This hotel is a good hotel. The staff was extremely friendly (Sonia could use some service training though ;) ). The rooms were nice, clean and big enough. Breakfast was very good and one had a huge choice. A wonderful view on the sea that was within a few metres.
I would recommend this hotel without any doubts to my friends and family and will return for sure again.
This holiday was just wonderful!

My daughter and I had a room overlooking the courtyard which was quiet and clean. As it was February the price was very reasonable but the weather was fantastic which made our stay in Xlendi memorable. Nice to see that the right hand side of the bay has remained almost unscathed by the onslaught of tourism and that there are even some original boat type cave houses still remaining on the main sea front.

One downside - don't park overnight under the trees to the left of the hotel. Your car will be completely covered in bird droppings, like ours was, if you do!!

Rooms were small but clean and tidy throughout our stay
Breakfast was perfectly adequate with fresh fruit and bakery items
There are plenty of good dining options in Xlendi and the bay is ideal for swimming

I have stayed at the St. Patrick's Hotel before, and have always been content with the experience, but this last time was, in a word, disappointing. We had a room with a sea-view, which was beautiful, but the hotel cannot take credit for the view. The room itself was clean, but the furniture is in need of renovation. There was no pressure in the water pipes, resulting in a weak dribble of water as an excuse for a shower. The use of the word "pool" and "roof garden" is intensely misleading. The pool is a puddle of water barely a metre deep, and potted plants are hardly what I would call a roof garden.
The worst was yet to come.
Breakfast was a nightmare. The staff were rude, grumpy and unhelpful. We had to run around looking for mugs, plates, cutlery etc to lay our own table, whereas other tables "for non-residents" were laid. Coffee came out of a dispensing machine, and was of course, disgusting. The grumpy old waiter finally explained to us that we were allowed to choose between a "full english breakfast" and a "continental" breakfast. The continental breakfast consisted of bread, jams and cold meats, and the full english breakfast was a mess of reheated beans, bacon, sausages, tomatoes and re-fried egg. I asked if it would be possible to have a scrambled egg, and all hell broke loose. When this finally arrived, I wasn't sure whether to eat it, or use it to fill in the cracks in the sea wall. Old Grumpy even had the cheek to ask whether everything was "okay?" on our way out.

Expectation management seems to be in order for this hotel. As this was our first time in the St Patricks, I can't comment on the apparent decline in service or standards that several previous reviewers have noticed. But we found it to be a solid three-star hotel. No frills, but proper rooms, friendly service, and good value for money considering the exceptional location. The self-service breakfast is nothing special, but certainly better than many French or Italian hotel-breakfasts we've had - and being able to enjoy leisurely it at a table right next to the water more than makes up for the machine-made orange juice. Rooms are fine, if a bit dark (choose the sea side view; its worth the extra money). Bathroom was clean and did the trick - again nothing exceptional. Lobby, courtyard and the hotel itself are well maintained and have a very friendly atmosphere. In short: a fine hotel and one we'd definitely come back to.

Sadly we must agree with most of what others have said. We have been to St Patrick's several times before and this time was not such a pleasant experience. Our sea view room was very clean as is the whole hotel but the air conditioning was not working properly and at night the hotel's system was turned up and the noise in our room was unbearable. After some altercation the surly night desk agreed to change our room to a lower grade one, which was quiet. (Incidentally the so called Valley View rooms overlook the car park.) Unfortunately, although the air conditioning worked, the fridge did not, the toilet flush cronked noisily and we found holes in the curtains and bed cover and a cockroach in the bath. Breakfast is mediocre, orange (!) juice and coffee were both horrible. We shall not go again even though the hotel is situated at the water's edge,. and was once charming. Most of the staff still are!
