Stayed at the Hanbury manor and what a lovely surprise. Stayed overnight for my wedding anniversary and it was fantastic. A bit overpriced for 1 night but none the less it was great. Great room, staff, grounds and breakfast was yummy.

Room Tip: Couples Romantic packages are great. huge room, bed, bathroom.

A lovely venue but a pretty poor Sunday Carvery! The starters and desserts were ok but the main courses were extremely poor. The meat on offer was gammon and beef, but looking at the meat on the blocks neither were proper joints of either gammon or beef. They both looked like they had been created, and lacked any taste or flavour. It was a similar case with the cheeseboard. None of the cheeses had any flavour, and like the meat, I would guess they are sourced from cheaper suppliers. The vegetables had been standing for a while and looked, and tasted, a bit strewed!

Such a disappointment, the venue is wonderful, the service very good, but they should consider sourcing their meat and cheeses from local farms and suppliers and concentrating on quality and good flavour.

Having walked the golf course while watching a Trilby Tour event some weeks ago it was high on the list to return and play. However, the excellent golf course is only one reason to stay at Hanbury Manor.
The hotel staff and facilities are excellent. The cocktail bar is in the older part of the Manor with oak panelling and high ceiling. The Oak restaurant offers the usual wide range of breakfast choices and the evening meal that we also had there was very good, particularly as the golf, dinner bed and breakfast were all included in our Golf Break.
Well worth a visit.

I stayed at Hanbury Manor with three friends for a golf weekend - two rounds of golf, dinner, bed and breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, sympathetically set in and around an 18th century manor house resplendent with full oak panelling in several public areas. The Oaks restaurant and the Vardon bar are both modern, but still completely in keeping with the overall style of the hotel. The bedrooms are pleasant, not air-conditioned, but a fan was provided which made up for this. It is the UK after all. The shower was a touch on the weak side, but there was plenty of hot water.
The staff were charming, polite and helpful at all times. The grounds of the hotel are magnificent, and the golf course an absolute charm. We all wanted to stay and play a third round when we finished on Sunday.
If I were to find fault in any area, it would be that wifi in the guest bedrooms is very expensive and should really be free. It's free in the public areas after all.

Room Tip: Take an upper floor. The ground (1st if you're american) floor where I stayed was a little noisy with people passing the window.

Was taken out for lunch to this lovely countryside hotel. The restaurant was a bit of a trek through the building but the lovely friendly staff were happy to point the way. The dining room was a little stuffy so we sat out in the terrace over looking the golf course which though lovely could have done with a bit more shade. Service and food were brilliant with tasty carvery roast and other alternatives. Would happily return for another good feed :)
