Beautiful Manor House

My husband and I stayed at Hanbury Manor in August on an impromptu road trip. The Manor is very large with lovely terraces you can sit out on and look at the golf course which has fantastic mature trees. Our room had been newly refurbished to a high standard, had a lovely bathroom with L'Occitaine toiletries and a large hallway/dressing room area. We ate our dinner and breakfast outside on the terrace at The Oak Room and both were very good. Had a bit of a problem on check out but this was eventually resolved.

Uninspiring

Visited Hanbury Manor back in March and the weather was extreme to say the least, thunder and lightning all weekend which wasn't a pleasent experience when it seemed to be the most popular Hotel to be in that particular weekend. We expected a nice quet romantic weekend but instead we got a packed solid hotel with all facilities including spa over crowded and extremely noisey. Some staff were to busy to help and seemed more interested to get away from guests than to stop and help however busy they were that weekend. The grounds were very nice except we couldn't get oyt to see them due to the weather. The resteraunt was very average and we had a particularly annoying wonky table to boot. After the uninspiring resteraunt we went to the quiet bar/lounge area to find screaming kids and a long time to wait for drinks to arrive. Overall an average hotel with average staff, the weekend was topped off by an interview being undertaken by another guest next to our morning coffee and tea in the lounge area.

Must do better!

Party for 120 guests to celebrate son's wedding. Appalling reception staff claimed we had cancelled our room booked months earlier! Eventually roomed found complete with cot for couple approaching 70. To add to annoyance, credit card then debited with extra £50 for 'extras' just in case. Insufficient food at buffet for guests - many found food had run out after 30 mins. Clearly unable to handle simultaneous 3 wedding parties.

Room very warm (no aircon) but comfortable beds. Good buffet breakfast, this time with plenty of food.

Check out painfully slow - too small for a hotel of this size.

The worst Marriott I have ever stayed in on any continent

Thank you very much for your comments in relation to your experience relating to our hotel. We certainly strive on feedback and do our best to train our staff where appropriate. I must apologise for the poor check in experience you encountered. I will make sure to share your feedback with the relevant team members. In reference to the credit request on arrival, this is a standard practice across the hotel industry and is mainly there for the benefit of our guest so that you can charge food and drink to your room. In relation to the wedding, I can assure you that we delivered everything the bride and groom had ordered and they were more than happy with the delivery of our product and service throughout the day. We did speak to them personally, as we were worried that something might have gone wrong. Lovely stay

I was just putting some photographs in an album of our stay at Hanbury Manor and it reminded me to recommend this hotel.I went with my partner, my daughter and my dog. We had a lovely sized ground floor room that led out onto gardens which are gorgeous and really well maintained.
The pool was lovely, the food was lovely and the experience was lovely. Just lovely!

Lovely golf break

We stayed 2 nights with 2 rounds of golf, the course was in first class condition, however it is a long course if you are not that fit hire a buggy as it's a long walk with some serious hills. The Oakes grill was good and the inclusive meal with the golf package great value, wines not too expensive. The breakfast was also good. Marriott rooms comfortable especially the beds. Recommended.
