“Wonderfully welcoming as usual!!”
Reviewed 14 April 2014 via mobile

A delicious cooked lunch of local produce and bottomless pot of tea. Very reasonably priced. Children superbly catered for with books, toys and games. Plenty to read and see for the adults too with all the paintings from local artists displayed on the wall. Such a warm welcome and outstanding service from Caroline and her assistants - you can see why she has won so many awards and no doubt will continue to do so!!!

“Tea and cake”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

After crossing the river on the chain ferry, we walked into Loddon, not knowing the area, we had taken sandwhiches, but then decided to look for a tea shop, we were just about to give up when I spotted the advertising board on the pavement.....glad I did. We asked for two tea's and were brought a very large teapot, and two cups and saucers, two lovely pieces of cake were also ordered. It's only a very small place, but the owner and Ryan who served us were so friendly, and the price was even better, we were also given bread to feed the ducks just over the road. Service with a very big smile....thankyou.

Wonderful but basic food in cramped corridoor of a cafe with few / no facilities apart from tired newsapers and magazines. This cannot be described as a restaurant. It is a very plain cafe. Lovely hostess with individual attention in a tiny room ---or sit on the pavement by the busy road. Frequented by locals as is so cheap and cheerful. It is what it is. Don't make a special trip.

“Exceptional cafe at the heart of a Norfolk village”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Until you've experienced Caroline Dwen at Rosy Lees, it's hard to understand why this is such a wonderful place. It's tiny, packed, cramped, no loos and yes the garden is over the road by the public loos. But these are irrelevant issues.

The food is good, robust, locally made or home made.

But that is also by the bye.

What makes Rosy Lees exceptional is the welcome you get from Caroline, who knows everyone locally, and busily chats to all her guests and frequently involves them all in the conversation. She is also Loddon and Chedgrave's number one sales person!

I live in Loddon and I probably come along a couple of times a month. Whenever anyone is staying with me, I bring them down and thereafter whenever they visit again, the first question is usually, when are we going to Rosy Lees? People recognise that this kind of village hub is rare and they want to be part of it.

It's very special and long may it continue.
