Description: A delightful old, unspoilt Cornish village pub full of character and very welcoming. Dog friendly, large beer garden across the road for those lovely sunny days. In the winter after a lovely walk on the beach, come and relax in front of our roaring fires, we serve quality Ale from St Austell Brewery. We also serve a selection of hot drinks. Food is served every day. Here at The Ship,' You don't have to be local to be treated like a local you just have to come and see us'We look forward to welcoming you. From all the crewe.

“Friendly pub with home cooked food”
Reviewed 11 April 2014

We popped in for a warming drink and it seemed so full of families that we went back to eat there the next day. We had lovely homemade food (vegetarian and meat) and the children were well catered for too in this lovely old pub.

“Excellent value pub food”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

Our first visit to the Ship for a meal for quite a while, and I was impressed. Its always been a character pub with a good feel about it, which always helps.
Good choice of real ales including St Austells HSD, was a promising start. Bar staff were friendly and helpful, and table service efficient and well timed.
The food was excellent value for money, good portion sizes, tasty pub food at a decent price. Whats not to like?
We will visit again without a doubt, but as locals we are mindful of how busy the Ship gets in the main holiday season thanks to the nearby caravan park, so will time our visits accordingly!

“Good value, friendly little pub”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

We have called in for lunch at this pub several times over the years when walking this part of the Cornish coast path. The food is good value and the service is always friendly. Our little dog is always welcomed which is fantastic.

“Fabulous Weekend, great drink, food & company”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

Our visit to Pentewan was a blustery, rainy event but we were made welcome by the friendly people of the village. The food was of a very high quality & plenty of variety. I had the campus & Pete had the burger....nothing was wasted. Well worth the visit & we will definitely be going again. Entertainment is well worth a visit too.

“Good Quality Pub Food”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

We haven't been to the Ship Inn for many years. I'm glad we returned. It's such a lovely pub, full of character with a friendly young girl behind the bar serving.

We ordered our food - a sizzling steak for the other half and a ploughman's with a side order of chips for me. The portions were more than generous but more importantly good quality ingredients were used. A thoroughly enjoyable meal and will definitely return.
