Visited the lost gardens in March 2013. Really enjoyed the day here, lovely tea room as well! It could of been improved with better signage once inside the gardens. Will definitely visit again!

We visited these gardens in March of this year when the rest of the country was suffering blizzards and an almost arctic freeze. We had an amazing day. The sun shone and in the micro-climates which many aspects of the gardems create, we could have been in the Mediterranean. We did not see all of the gardens, but must still have walked at least three miles. It is well worth exploring beyond the formal and walled gardens, into the lower reaches of the valley where nature takes over from a more ordered environment. The highlight had to be the jungle where the careful planting (which looks so natural!) takes you back to an almost "carboniferous" setting of 300 million years ago. Altogether this was agreat place to visit with different elements of interest around every corner.

Advice from Heligan staff was that April/May was the best time to see the Rhododendrons in colour. Sadly due to the cold weather we have had this year and the fact that Easter was quite early, there was not as much colour as we'd hoped. However we spent a pleasant, if not cold day wandering through the vast gardens. The jungle was as delightful as ever.

The gardens are amazing. It's a beautiful place to spend a few hours. I particularly like the jungle walk and the brid hide. Could spend hours just watching the birds alone.
Have visited in March, June and September - each time the gardens give you a different view. My visit earlier this month was interesting............watching the numerous gardeners preparing for the proper spring weather. Looking forward to seeing the flowers in bloom come June. Please visit, it's well worth it!

The £29 family entry was a bit of a shock, but after reading the reviews I was determined to visit, we are so glad we did. Even on a cold, grey April day, when many of the spring flowers hadn't blossomed because of the long winter it was still delightful. The children loved exploring the jungle, and finding the mud sculptures. The wildlife hide was great, we saw so many birds on the feeders including a woodpecker. If we lived nearer we would certainly be season ticket holders, as I would love to explore through different seasons.
Certainly enjoyed it more than a previous visit to the Eden project.
