Wow! What an amazing campsite, it certainly deserves its 5 stars. This is a very well run, clean campsite. All members of staff are friendly, polite and helpful and although there are rules within the campsite you don't feel restricted by them and everyone appears to abide by them. We used the adult pool, a 10 euro refunded deposit for a bracelet was required, and during the morning we felt like we had a private pool although it did get busy during the late afternoon. There were also three other pools for family use all with ample sunbeds and be warned if you leave your towel on them to reserve them, they are removed. The pitches were spacious and shaded, for us this was probably the only negative as we love the sun, but you are able to go to the pool area if there is no sun on your pitch. The toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained and there was always hot water.

The walk into Largentiere takes approx. 20mins along a gravel path/dirt track and is well worth the walk. If you intend to go on market day I would recommend walking as Largentiere is impassable whilst the market is on. There is also a walk to Chassiers which the signpost says 0.7 km but be warned it is not a path and is very steep and although beautiful when you get to the top, unless you are fit I would suggest you drive!

There is a little shop on site which sold delicious bread and pastries but was very limited in any other goods but there is a supermarket in Largentiere which is only a 5 min drive away.

The evening entertainment was varied and although we didn't go to see it we could hear it from our pitch and sounded great and of a good standard.

This was our first camping holiday in this region and we loved it and would definitely return. Would we go back to this campsite, absolutely and would have no problem recommending it to anyone, whether you are a couple, had teenagers of a young family this site is worth a visit.

A beautiful, well laid out site with excellent facilities. Unfortunately there was building /improvement work going on whilst we were there and the heavy machinery would start up very early in the morning which wasn't pleasant when you are on holiday. We were pitched in the area very close to the spa / toilets as the weather wasn't too good but even though it was cold and wet the (heated) toilets/ showers were always spotless. The pitches in this area are small, but adequate for our needs, in better weather I would have wanted to go on the pitches closer to the river. The pool complex is beautiful, in warmer weather I would have spent much more time there. There is bar, and a large health suite which was expensive. We didn't use the restaurant but it looked good. Internet on site is expensive, but is free in the tourist office in Largentière, a very pretty local town with a small supermarket.

It is ideally situated for exploring the Ardeche Gorge, and there are lots of character villages nearby.

Room Tip: Caravan pitches are very different, decide whether you want the green campsite feel of the riverside...

This is the second site we visited in the ardeche region (first being Yelloh Vivarais Soleil) Unfortunately it didn't match up. The site in all is very well set out and pitches are a good size (make sure you say in from the river as it is very busy there and pitches are unmarked). We were attracted by the spas facilities and gym, all of which were good but as we have a 5 month old we had to take using these in turns. The staff are friendly and even though english is at a minimum you could get by if your too lazy to try a little french.
If you are travelling with children you will find they will enjoy the slides and the pools are good, although very overcrowded and sun loungers are at a minimum so need to get there early to bag one! I have to say that being bombed and hit by balls and inflatables was annoying and there was a definite lack of lifeguard or anyone enforcing the rules. Also there seems to be a lack of good entertainment for the children, there was a show and some teenagers trying to do aqua activites but it was obvious that they had no idea or experience. Only rule that did get followed was the speedo's for men (always a strange one for me to understand).
The dog loved the river and there were good reviews about the restaurant although we didn't make it there.
Shop well stocked and not over-priced. plenty of pastry's and breads in the mornings which is good.
Shower blocks were very well maintained and we had the pitch right next door and apart from the kids using it to play hid and seek it was very quiet.
My overall review would be summed up by saying a very well maintained and clean site but not for the family or individuals looking for a quiet holiday. Pools too busy and not well monitored.

Room Tip: We Camped with our Caravan so pitches away from the river would be my recommendation.

Wonderful location...out of the way but peaceful & quiet...fantastic scenery. The swimming pools are lovely very clean with plenty of seating around. The onsite auberge is highly recommended too. We stayed in keycamp accommodation which was very peacefully situated amongst woodland. The local town of L'Argentiere was beautiful.
