“Freakin' Fantastic”

This place was awesome! We were actually invited to come to Round Hill by someone who owned property at the resort. I cannot say enough about this hotel. We stayed at Cottage 6, and Ms. Pearlie, Ms. Barbara, and Ms. Marvelie took great care of us. They prepared the most excellent breakfasts! They also took care of the group when some members got sick, revealing natural herbal cures that we would've never known about. The ginger tea worked wonders on some of my friends when they weren't feeling so well. Thanks, Ms. Pearlie!
Every single person we encountered at the resort had a pleasant disposition. It really made a difference in our trip. From what we heard before we left, we were expecting the absolute best, but we got much, much more. If you're looking for a true, relaxing experience where you can mingle with the most helpful staff ever...come no further than Round Hill Villas in Montego Bay. You won't be disappointed.

Wow... what an amazing place!!!! Stayed at the Round Hill from Thursday 5/6 to Sunday 5/9. The RH is casual elegance at it's best.

We arrived at the RH about 9:20 and as expected, our room was not ready. We checked in and got the b-fast and dinner plan, and had b-fast.

After b-fast, we quickly changed into our bathing suits and hit the beach. The beach at the RH is pretty nice. Lots and lots of shade, with several private and secluded beaches 100 yards to the West. There is a very nice reef off shore teaming with fish.

The views at the RH are amazing. You have the hills to the West, with a view all the way to Lucea, and the hill behind the RH where the villas are located. There is a great house on the property to the West of the beach, and what I can only describe as a rain forest West of the beach. The grounds at RH are overgrown with 50-75 year old palm trees and various flowers and fauna. Pretty mind blowing. The tree frogs are unlike any I have heard at night in JA.

We did check in mid afternoon. Had a second floor room in the Pineapple House. All rooms are seafront. We had a second floor room that was refurbished-redecorated in the past 1-2 years with the help of villa owner Ralph Lauren. The rooms are decorated in a classic colonial style. Our room had slat windows that opened up offering a 12 foot picture window. The bathroom had a rain shower and huge tub.

The staff at RH are fabulous. Just wonderful people. Every person went out of their way to offer first class service and try and make your stay at the RH memorable. We did not encounter one staff member who was not friendly or helpful.

The food at RH is quite good. We had the b-fast buffet each day and usually had the buffet at night. For lunch, we ordered off the beach bar menu. Liked the pizzas and club sandwiches. Great waitstaff. Loved talking with them.

In all my trips to Jamaica, I never went in a pool where I stayed. The infinity pool at RH was very cool and enjoyable, it also had areas that were in the shade.

There was a 150 guest wedding party staying there during our visit. To the RH staff's credit, they saw to their needs and did not miss a beat taking care of us.

Left RH about 3PM on Sunday. The late check out made for a great day. Unlike some of the new arrivals in Jamaica who claim to be five star resorts, the Round Hill is a true five star property.

So once again, another great trip to Jamaica!!!

We had an amazing stay in one of the villas. The room was clean with stunning views over the water. Despite the villas around, we felt that we were in complete seclusion. The food was delicious and traditionally Jamaican and service could not have been friendlier. Overall, we have no complaints and would recommend the resort to anyone heading to Jamaica.

What can I say! I have never sobbed when it was time to leave a holiday before.
Round Hill is truly a gem of a find (I almost don't want to shout about it on trip advisor, to keep it a secret :) )
My husband and I have travelled extensively, both with and without our children, always staying in 5+ star resorts. But this place stands out a mile. We were welcomed by the staff as if by family, our children were practically accepted as their own. (Many have staff have worked here 20+ years) All the fellow guests were like minded individuals and felt like guests at a party. We have honestly made friends for life.
The style is rustic and 50's charm, the beach is small and clean, the sea crystal clear and calm enough for a 3 year old to wade in, the food is good (no-one was ill) and they cater for fussy little eaters well, the service is impeccable but delivered with a genuine smile as if staff really believe you deserve the break. Stewart knocks up a mean cocktail by the shore, Althea delivers an excellent massage on the adults only spa lawn with the sound of the ocean to lull you, evening entertainment is of just the right amount and quality.
But for us the most important part was the childcare. There is a small (complimentary) staffed, airconditioned kids club, but most uniquely, a team of expert nannies on hand to take care of your little ones at a moment's notice. We hired the amazing Tricia for several hours each day so that we could spend time relaxing. She did exactly what the children wanted, tie-dying T-shirts, making collages, painting stones, being driven on a golf buggy around the resort on a 'safari' by Junior (we all fell in love with Junior), eating ice-cream in the shade, burying new friends in the sand. She was organised, no-nonsense and experienced, but always full of fun and smiles. The children adored her and we knew they were catered for completely despite one of our girls having Down's Syndrome.
If state-of-the-art facilities, stuffy staff and snooty guests are what you are looking for don't try Round Hill. If you want understated luxury, genuine smiles and laughter in a naturally stunning environment (plus quite a bit of celebrity guest spotting darling!) then give it a try.
WE WILL BE BACK. Thank you to Josef and his incredible team.

I see that on this site, the Iberostars are rated number one and two with Round Hill being number three....I have stayed at Iberostar Rose Hall and Round Hill and there is no comparison. Round Hill is more expensive but far better in terms of service, food, cleanliness and overall atmosphere. It is a smaller, more intimate resort that caters to individual travellers and doesn't try to suit the masses. If you are looking for a more personal experience, Round Hill is your spot...if you want more late night parties and large groups, head to Iberostar.

I just returned from Round Hill and it was by far the best resort I have ever been to. The service was above and beyond, the people were so warm and friendly and our villa (#18) was amazing. This is a truly special place, look no further and just go here. You will not regret it. Make sure to order a Round Hill Special at the bar. My boyfriend and I are already trying to figure out when we can go back as soon as possible. We can't wait!

My family along with another family rented a villa called, 'Hillside Villa,' at Round Hill Jamaica. The villa was spectacular. It feel like a throwback to old Hollywood with it's 1950's-60's architecture. The view of Montego Bay is stunning and unique in the Round Hill Villa resort. The staff were perfect -- providing friendly yet not intrusive service. The food was phenomenal. Although a vacation at Round Hill is a pricy endeavor I felt that it was worth every penny.

We have stayed at a lot of resorts in Jamaica, St Johns, Dominica Republic and Mexico but Round Hill is by far my favorite because of the intimate size and of course the beauty!
