“Wonderful place on Arambol-Mandrem place”
Reviewed 25 December 2013

Warm, relaxing and homely atmosphere, stylish decorations, tasty Italian home-made food, beach-side location and friendly staff (Italians and indians) make this place a good destination for travellers.

A stunning lodge type accom. Basically highly dressed / quality beach huts centred around a large two tier hang out / dining space. Lots of lovely things to catch your eye – all with italian flair. The view out to the beach leaves a lot to be desired – there isn't one really. The kitchen can't seem to manage to produce meals which differ from person to person - "could you all have the same please – as it's easier''…. Prices are more than you'd expect – but in line with the accom. However, it isn't comfortable. You do feel as though you are a guest in someones home, and abiding by all their rules. Kitchen opens late & closes early, feel you can't really sit on terrace. Lots of rules – first page in menu in fact. Service lets this place down considerably. We were made extremely uncomfortable due to the arrival of a large group of 13 guests. Majority of our stay we felt in the way whilst they prepared for their large group. They all arrived v v early in morning (6:00am) – in full on loud party spirit – which jarred considerably with the vibe the owner put out there. We were then asked when we are leaving – in a tone of 'now' - at 7:30am, and made to feel we had to leave – as some of these guests had our hut booked, and were tired. We no longer wanted to be a part of this horrid superficial environment. After one thing or another – we left with a sour taste and very unwelcome and regretful of the money we spent there. If you want to look at small statues, placed well amongst miles & miles, and miles of chiffon – then this is your place. If you want service, a good base (this place is 40 min walk from life), a view and to feel welcome – this is not the place for you. Would not recommend. All talk and no walk.

This place is a perfect blend of Robinson Crusoe, Neverland, and New Age. It is peaceful, quiet and, in spite of how close the huts are, very private. It's the perfect place to "get away" from the madness of life. Unfortunately, the parties going on in other parts of the beach sometimes can be heard at Atman. But, the couple of times that happened, it was over by 11 p.m. So, it was not too much of a drag. Being run by Italians, the food at the restaurant was GREAT! I loved their mushroom bruschetta. Honestly, it is hte ONLY reason I would ever go back to that part of Goa. I loved it!

I stayed there for 8 days and I really enjoyed it. Goa is amazing itself. But as for me, this is one of the best places to stay there. It's warm and lovely, it's so close to the sea, the food and drinks are amazing and the rooms are so cute.

Room Tip: all rooms are good :)

This eco lodge is very comfortable, its very simple but with lots of efforts in decoration and comfort.

all the rooms have a small gallery with a sofa.
Rooms have only cold water and there is one shared bathroom if you need hot water.
the atmosphere is lovely.

the restaurant its superb. you may find even arugula (rucula) for salads. The owner is an italian lady who understand the western requirements on how to clean fresh vegetables. Eating here is like being in Italy.

my recommendation is that you arrive in a taxi arranged by the owner because its not easy for driver that do not know the place to reach there as its like 1km away from "downtown".

This small lodge of about 10 huts is set 2 min walk from the beach. All the huts are made with natural material and are nicely decorated and offer a relaxed atmosphere.
The lodge has great restaurant with Italian food and breakfast is very tasty, specially the cups of Italian coffee.
It is an ecolodge so bear in mind wildlife can make its way into the huts. We had frogs on several nights but its part of the experience. Would stay here again in a flash. Sooooo relaxing this place.

I was at Atman for almost a week during Feb 2012. Atman is a completely different place, unlike the crowded places you usually find in north goa, atman helps you find yourself by offering a perfect combination of peace and solace. The place has amazing food, all thanks to Michela. Atman has descent priced delicious food to offer, an ambience to remember and artistic views, paintings & souvenirs all around...

In and all a perfect experience... A must if you planning to visit Goa and find urself :)

Room Tip: Take center big room if more than two of you are travelling and wish to stay together...
