This cottage is absolutely perfect....it is a home away from home with everything you would want from a self catering cottage...co-op just on the corner which was very handy... the village and surrounding areas is beautiful from what we saw...we stayed here as we went went for the British Masters and was a perfect location...the train station is literally a 2 minute walk round the corner so very handy for going into Newcastle ...Debbie our host was lovely and answered any questions we may have had and gave us tips as to where to eat and drink...after a long day at golf we found the boat house pub a welcome site with its cask ales...thankyou Debbie xx

We really enjoyed our stay, plenty to entertain us in the area and the place was spotlessly clean and very well equipped.

“Clean and Comfortable.”

You can't do better than this lovely cottage. We were a couple, but there are sleeping arrangements (extra mattresses, couches) for several more people. The kitchen has everything you could want and is full sized. There is reserved parking (although everything is very tight on this tiny street) and there is a washer (but not a dryer). I wish every vacation flat was this nice. Oh! You need to know that ALL local eateries are closed on Tuesdays and plan for that!

“Very comfortable stay in Wylam”
Reviewed 22 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We found the cottage to be well equipped and comfortable. Wylam is a good base for a variety of visits and activities and has good services in the village. The owner was most helpful in every respect.

“Lovely little cottage in a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The owner of the property was great, responded to emails quickly and even met us at the bus stop on arrival. It took about ten minutes to find the place, with a little help from locals, but once found it was easy to navigate around the local area with no trouble at all. The locals were friendly especially at the fox and hound pub, just around the corner. We had several meals there which were fantastic. The property itself had one large bedroom upstairs with lots and lots of storage space and room for a sofa. Downstairs there was a TV and DVD player and sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen was well equipped including dishwasher, microwave, washing machine. Cleaning products for the washer, dishwasher, bathroom and kitchen were also left for us, as well as instruction manuals for all the mod cons. It was light and roomy despite the small size of the property. In a quiet location perfect for walking on a warm day, close to the river, train station. No garden which was a shame but the area itself more than makes up for that. All in all it was a brilliant weekend away and we wouldn't hesitate to book it again should we stay in Wylam.

“Beautiful spacious well equipped cottage”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

As one of 2 couples staying here while attending a friends wedding at Matfen Hall we were happy we did.
Didn't expect it to be as lovely as it was, very deceiving from the outside but a lovely sized cottage it was, with a huge beautiful bedroom. We chose to sleep downstairs on the sofa bed and couldn't complain it was very comfortable and slept really well.
Everything you could possibly think of was provided as the cottage is very well equipped.
I wouldn't hesitate to return to with my family and stay again and will be recommending it to others
