Took my family to the big island and Maui in Hawaii for spring break. We stayed at the Mauna Lani condominiums. Note these are a separate facility than the Mauna Lani hotel. The condominium were spacious, neat and clean and well setup for extended stays. The ocean front views were gorgeous. Grocery store and restaurants are a 5 minute drive. There is daily housekeeping it outside of that this facility does not provide the full services of a resort so caution to travelers looking for a full service resort. If you enjoy golf, serenity and ample space for the family this may be a great option. The facility has a pool which is a 5 minute walk but beaches are not in walking distance. You will have to drive 5 minutes to get to the nearest beach. Beaches around this area are nothing to rave about. The Kohala side of the island is not as populated or developed as the Hilo side so travelers looking for night life this is a bit of a drive from anywhere. Overall this is a good relaxing laid back condominium probably a golfers delight.
