Staying with relative locally and wanted somewhere in the vicinity to eat for last night away. We were so please with the Long Arm. Good welcome and very pleasant staff welcomed us. Menu was more "upmarket " than normal pub food but prices were very comparably. Between the three of us we had the hake fish fingers, Cornish crab and the chicken, ham and leek pie. We could not find any fault at all. The food was hot and well presented. The hake fish fingers were 3 pieces of hake battered, triple cooked chips and mushy peas......lovely and certainly plenty on the plate. The pie had large pieces of chicken with the ham and leeks and the pastry was light and fresh. Came with new potatoes, marrow and carrots. The Cornish crab was served with new potatoes, and a really fresh and plentiful salad. We only had 2 sweets as third member of our party quite full but an extra spoon was happily provided so we could share. The mango sorbet was a delightful end to the meal and the sundae was lovely. We would certainly go again if the opportunity arose and I know our relative who lives 2 miles away has already decided that it is the place to take visitors.
