Staying with relative locally and wanted somewhere in the vicinity to eat for last night away. We were so please with the Long Arm. Good welcome and very pleasant staff welcomed us. Menu was more "upmarket " than normal pub food but prices were very comparably. Between the three of us we had the hake fish fingers, Cornish crab and the chicken, ham and leek pie. We could not find any fault at all. The food was hot and well presented. The hake fish fingers were 3 pieces of hake battered, triple cooked chips and mushy peas......lovely and certainly plenty on the plate. The pie had large pieces of chicken with the ham and leeks and the pastry was light and fresh. Came with new potatoes, marrow and carrots. The Cornish crab was served with new potatoes, and a really fresh and plentiful salad. We only had 2 sweets as third member of our party quite full but an extra spoon was happily provided so we could share. The mango sorbet was a delightful end to the meal and the sundae was lovely. We would certainly go again if the opportunity arose and I know our relative who lives 2 miles away has already decided that it is the place to take visitors.

Situated in a lovely quiet village this pub is how I remember pubs from decades ago with the exception than the food is excellent 21st century quality. A small friendly pub packed with locals wanting to chat, people dropping in for a drink, dogs welcome. There isn't too much room and the ambiance is of a noisy nature but it is a terrific environment to be in. Service is friendly, the food arrived quickly and wasn't over priced. The friends we went with seemed to know everyone who came in! An amazing place, give it a go but you will need to book. Parking is safe and easy, too.

What a lovely review, thank you! You are definitely right that on a busy night it can be quite noisy but it does mean the pub have a great atmosphere and that comes from the drinkers not just the people eating. We try very hard to make everyone feel welcome so it's great that it worked with you. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Stopped here last night with my partner and friends after driving past everyday on the way to work. Was not disappointed, menu was large and varied and there was a wide selection of lager/ale. Atmosphere was very friendly and the pub was packed by the time we left.

I settled on the Burger in Sour Dough bun with Stilton, tripple cooked chips and salad, which was priced at a very reasonable £11.50. Served piping hot and very tasty. The bar lady brought additional drinks over to our table, great service.

I would go again and I would recommend to a friend.

This is a picturesque pub with a real local community atmosphere. The food was absolutely lovely, service top notch and there was a good choice of drinks which was impressive for somewhere not on the main routes. The staff can't do enough for you. We stayed in the cottage which I'd thoroughly recommend, and I'll be going back myself as I didn't have enough time to try the homemade pizza. Excellent food and drink literally on the doorstep, and the sights of Wiltshire just a short hop away. Plus it's all at a reasonable price! What a treasure. Superb.
