“Great place for camping!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

We are visiting this provincial park for 5 years already, once in every summer. I think we found our perfect camping place. There are activities for all ages: great hiking trails, canoe/kayak rentals nearby and many great beaches with smooth rocky shores provide excellent swimming; bring your bikes! Countless inland lakes that offer endless canoeing and kayaking adventures.
3.5 hours from Toronto, highly reccomended camping for everyone who loves camping!

“Great Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

very nice provincial park. Sections 600 have power and is close to showers. There are several small lakes to explore here as well as hiking trails. Cliffs for jumping off and a quiet (no motors) lake for canoes. As you turn off 69 onto #522 there is a business that rents canoes($40 per day) as well as a store, gas and small takeout. Just a little further north is the French river and trading post.Snowmobile bridge is worth a visit. Nice area, clean park but wardens in force 11pm quiet time. We were up early and spent all day on water so were wiped out by then anyway. Get to showers early to avoid lineups.

“We love this park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

We have travelled to many provincial parks in Ontario but keep coming back to Grundy. We have teen aged kids and they absolutely love the jumping rocks and seem to find new friends every year they go.
We enjoy kayaking in the small lakes and the fishing is ok. If you want to fish go down the road about 10 km and there is a river with excellent bass fishing.
There always seems to be something to do there. We have learned to carv soapstone and paint with watercolours being among our favorites.
Would highly recommend to anyone with adventurous kids

“Good time Grundy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

I visited Grundy Lake with a group and stayed in White Spruce #10, with friends on #8. Recommend #8 for size and shade. #10 was a little smaller and much more sun! I liked White Spruce. It was central, close to Grundy and Gurd Lakes, so an easy portage either way. take of the Supply post at the corner of 69 and definitely get a canoe or kayak for your stay, you will love being out on the lakes! The bathrooms were pretty close, and clean. Make sure you have a fishing license if you intend to keep your fish, one of our group got carded. I did the Swan Lake hiking trail, easy and well marked with some nice lookouts, a great trail. A couple of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers were on our site and provided great entertainment during the weekend. There seems to be a good population there, and Loons too. My only complaint (not about the park really) was the trains at night. They were frequent! The highway is not far and sound travels easily, I would almost suggest ear plugs. Anyway, it was a good weekend, and I'm glad I got the chance to visit!

“Great Provincial Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2014

Been going to Grundy, annually, for many years. Evidenced by the string of annual photographs against the sign at the road. Wildlife includes mosquitoes (take bug spray), chipmunks, loons, and of course a few bears every summer. Campers are warned, but continue to leave coolers out overnight. The result is inevitable!!!
I will not list all the good things about Grundy. Mainly because you need to be there to appreciate it. But also because I don't want to attract too many people! It is just fine as it is!!
Seriously there is plenty here for children of all ages and adults alike. Hikes, canoeing, treasure hunts, fishing, swimming, evening activities, baseball. Just go and see for yourself.
