Owned by Dave & Paul, who in turn are kept in line by the ever effecient chief cook & bottle washer Noo and guarded by the excellently behaved Kuhn the dog, I cannot rate this place highly enough. Set in peaceful surroundings some 15 minutes easy walk or 2 minutes by scooter/car from the hustle of central Lamai, you're close enough to the action but far enough away not to suffer with the noise.

As well as the resort being completely refurbished and remodelled to a high standard, it is as previously stated kept immaculately clean too. It boasts a lovely covered terrace where meals are served and the small bar is situated, an adjacent small garden and pool with jacuzzi area. The range of Thai, English & Continental food that Noo prepares is to a high standard and she somehow manages to cook perfect fresh chips that even your grandmother would be proud of? Additionally, if you don't want to go out, the peacefulness and serenity of the place is amazing!

Paul & Dave as hosts are amongst the best, willing to engage and help their guests as little or as much as you require. Whether it be collection from the air or ferry port, simple advice on where to go, a friendly chat across the bar or even a lift down town with them occasionally joining you for a few beers, nothing is too much for them. It is truly more like visiting old mates than a holiday.

I would highly recommend this place for singles (25+), couples & families of all ages and if I hadn't already paid for my stay on Koh Tao I would have easily stayed another week. Thanks all for a lovely stay and hopefully see you again soon!

I had an enjoyable 4 days staying with the resort.

Rooms & Toilets:
- Clean (and I'm particular about it)
- Comfortable (size, decor, etc)

People:
- Great Service
I got my arrival dates wrong. But when I gave them a call at the airport, they went down to pick us up. No questions or grumbling. Just plain friendliness when we first met!

- Helpful
Dave did more than just calling up car rental companies for us. He made an effort to find for us the best possible price by going downtown with us himself!

- Friendly Staff
I had some problems relating to a snorkeling trip I booked from another company. When I went down to request help from the staff, the only ones there happened to be the locals, who could only speak Thai (min English). They did their best to understand my problem - even when I gave up communicating with them - and by some miracle, they managed to understand what I was saying. Wonderful Staff!! =)

- Relaxed Stay
We had a truly enjoyable stay. All arrangements will be done by the wonderful receptionist!

Problems (insignificant minor issues):
- No electricity to the fridge when we left the room. No way to cool down the drinks we bought.
- Abit far from the city center to walk by foot in the hot sun. However, rental of own transport was very cheap.

Without doubt one of the most beautiful and well designed hotel's on Samui. Hotel is kept spotlessly clean, rooms are well maintained and cleaned daily. Location is away from hustle nad bustle of Lamai but within 5 minutes drive which staff are only too happy to arrange. View's over Samui are stunning, just ask Paul and he can arrange transport moped or car. Thank's for all your hospitality Paul see you again soon!

First I want to say thank you very much to Dave and Paul it has been pleasure to stay in your resort and was lovely to meeting you. We couldn’t meet better people. Dave picked us from airport and Paul dropped us back. They are very helpful and make your stay so pleasant. They will drop you to Lamai if you need it, advise you on a local culture, things to do and where to go eat, etc.
The Tropical Palm resort is very good value for money, friendly staff, clean and big rooms, hot- cold water, air-condition, Wi-fi, Tv, Hairdryer. Rooms and towels are changed everyday. Also you can pamper yourself in their Spa beside the Swimming pool. Swimming pool is nice and clean not to big not to small with beds and towels ready for you every day!
I and my new husband stayed in this lovely resort for 14 days the begging of May for ours honeymoon. If you are not sure booked 2 days as we did and you can make your decision then, where you want to stay. If you looking for quiet place, where you feel welcome and comfortable, that is the place for you. Hire scoter or car – Koh Samui is small island (1,5 - 2 hours take you around the cost) and you have your independence. We paid 200BHT for a day for a scoter!
Distance from the hotel: Lamai centre – 5min, Chaweng centre - 15 min (Chaweng is more expensive then Lamai for everything), Big Buddha - 25 min, Namuang Big Waterfall 2 is 15 min and you can ride on elephants there as well, make a pictures with tiger and baby tiger, you can go on monkey, elephant, cobra, birds and crocodile shows there.
Crystal Bay and Coral Cave (10-15min away from resort) and some beaches in Chaweng are nice and clean with a good food. I didn’t like Coconut Beach which is in Lamai.
We consider ourselves very lucky that we find and stayed in Tropical Palm Resort – we made our decision after reading review on Trip adviser.

I can’t recommend hire enough Tropical Palm Resort. We definitely come back as we enjoyed every minute.

Thank you Paul and Dave for everything!!!

We stayed in the hotel for 10 days (booked advance for 2 nights) during the May. This is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Paul and Dave are very helpful, anything you need, just ask-no problem. The rooms are big enough and very clean with spacious balcony.Everything is working as should be air-con,TV,shower,wi-fi.Hairdryer is available on reception.Every day are towels has been changed and room cleaned up. Tropical Palms has nice deep pool just next to the bar with big TV (perfect combination :-). The location of the hotel is away from busy Lamai centre. This is very quiet place. We hired for all ten days scooter (200 TB/1day-just tell Dave and he will arrange everything) and ride all over the island. Some distances: 5 min. to Lamai centre,15 min. to Chaweng centre, 15 min. to Namuang Waterfall 2, 2 hours around the island with easy drive(highly recommended). There is a couple nice small clean beaches around: Christal bay and Coral cave. We didn´t like Lamai beach at all. This is a perfect value for money. We did enjoy every day in Koh Samui and Tropical Palms Resort. Definitely looking forward go back. This was one of the best holidays we have ever had.

Stayed for three days in April in this hotel. Picked up from the ferry port by Paul (400TB) Hotel is not close to the centre of Lamai but this is on all the websites and Paul/Dave will drop you into town if you ask or you can hire a moped from them for a couple of quid. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms spacious. Paul and Dave have lived on the island for a number of years sohave loads of advice and can answer any question, they are both well travelled so can answer alot of other questions which we found really helplful. We did not eat at the hotel but others told us the food was really nice. If you want to party in Lamai this is not the place but if you want peace and quiet then you need to stay here..
