Dear Westhamunited186338
Sorry for the delay in writing a response, back in the office now and catching up fast. Yes we are indeed offering Baht Bonanza throughout the year this year and more importantly we have just increased the free spending. We are now offering invest 10000 Baht and we will give you an extra 5000 Baht to spend. There is a peak season close out from 20 December 2014 to 10 January 2015 so depending on the timing of your planned visit then it may be available.
We look forward to seeing you again.

Just finished a 12 night stay in Centara Villas and it was a very relaxing honeymoon after a stressful wedding. We booked a pool villa and it had an amazing view. The pool was a big plus as it meant we could go in for a dip even after the main pools close at 7pm.

Bar was lovely and cocktails were tasty (drinks pricey enough for Thailand but there is 2 happy hours and and a shop 3 mins away to buy cheap beer for the fridge if that's worrying). Beach is practically private for hotel guests (maybe not in name but might as well be - few sellers walk up on down selling clothes and trinkets but they are not pushy and in fact very friendly). It's not that spectaular a beach as there was a kind of a natural rocky harbour opposite about 10m out but we spent most of the time lounging round the pool in any case. There are free water sports and we took a sea canoe out for a bit of exploration down the coast. Also moped rental available direct from hotel for quite cheap if you're feeling brave.

Hotel is maybe not for you if you plan to hit the bars till all hours. It is 15mins from Lamai beach (last shuttle back to hotel runs till 11.10) and 40 odd minutes from Chaweng (last shuttle runs back to hotel at 10.45). The shuttle bus is very cheap but otherwise you're looking at a taxi and from Lamai is about 350 baht and Chaweng about 600 and they can add up if you plan to be out every night. Tip of hat goes to the spa. It was awesome. We had two visits there and didn't want to leave.

Final word goes to all the staff as they are a special bunch. Resort is small enough so that you get to know everyone and they are all so nice and accommodating. See you again in future perhaps.

After a few days in Kuala Lumpur to see some friends in this modern vibrant city, we looked forward to a well deserved rest at the Centara Villas resort.
In spite of our apprehension about the weather forecast in May and all the reports of strenuous steps to climb we found the resort to be peaceful, a perfect place to relax.
The Centara villa resort is located in the remote south of Koh Samui but it is only a short ride to the nightlife. The resort provides a regular shuttle bus service to both Lamai (15mins) and Chaweng (30mins) for a small cost. It is advisable to book your seat both ways.
So relax and then go and explore, if you wish there is a motor scooter hire service right next door.
On arrival we were greeted by Ms.Sao who introduced us to the layout of the resort villas on the cliff side and set in mature gardens. Reached by a series of paths and stairs each villa appears to have its own privacy. Do not be daunted by the steps, there are easily managed but try to avoid them during the hot midday! However take care on the narrow 'crazy paved' stone steps near the top pool, they are difficult to negotiate without a hand rail. Our villa was located in an ideal position half way with a splendid view of the beach and sea. Although the hotel is now showing its age, Centara have set up a major modernisation programme of refurbishment. The exteriors of those villas not yet completed do show signs of weather decay as would be expected. However, the villa interior (at least ours) were kept in a clean and tidy condition. I do have some sympathy for the housekeepers plight, the logistics of having to carry all the tools and cleaning materials is a job in itself. No chance of using the traditional housekeepers carts that are usually seen in hotels. I would recommend, for a small cost, that these housekeepers are equipped with a holdall that has a shoulder strap, to help organise the materials and make it easier to negotiate the steps.
At the first evenings happy hour it was noticed that we were not the youngest of the guests, no surprise there! We soon made friends with fellow guests, helped by the welcome and enthusiasm of the bar and restaurant staff. Our first dinner was impressive, good local food, well presented and substantial portions. Served in a pleasant atmosphere by the beach and with a resident duo softly performing we settled and then remarked 'this is going to be good'.
Eating at the resort was not going to be a strain on the budget and if the Baht bonanza deal was taken the cost it would be further discounted. Very good value and if a change of scenery was desired there is always the alternative fishermans outlet just a short walk away. Depending on the location of your villa it is either a walk down the hill or from a lower level along the beach path.
Awaking for breakfast, there is no mad rush at the restaurant, plenty of space and plenty of food to choose from. After breakfast it is time to relax near one of the 3 swimming pools, on the beach or at your villa, the choice is yours.
At 1pm the bar is open for lunch time happy hour. This tends to extend into the restaurant or at the tables by the bar. A trend was emerging and the lazy lunch times went well into the afternoon.
It is not uncommon to find stray dogs, one such dog affectionately known as Rosie, seems to have been welcomed by previous guests and has become a feature of the resort. Like it or not here is a dilemma for the Centara management. The poor dog clearly is suffering from lice and worm infestation, it is not nice to see Rosie scratching and scraping and is 'off putting' to some guests who may be eating / drinking nearby.
Apart from a couple of night time thunderstorms, which were spectacular, the forecasted rain did not happen and we spent a holiday at Centara villas in perfect conditions.
Thank you to everyone, staff and fellow guests for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Choose a spa or pool room villa, they have more balcony space.

Dear Magnalan
Great to hear you had a relaxing time and made good use of the shuttle services to Lamai and Chaweng. Thank you for the kind comments about the food and staff and your comments will be passed on. Despite the fact that Rosie does not belong to the Hotel she has become a very popular attraction, we have decided that we should start a program of treatment to try to preserve her health with the help of a local charity organisation we hope to make sure she is fit and well.

We booked Centara Villas for our honeymoon and I still thank my husband for it.
It is a beautful hotel at the edge of a cliff.the staff is very polite and quite quick. There was a delay of 3 hours before we were given our rooms. Its because check-in time in Thailand is 2pm.

instead of ordinary rooms there are villas which finally lead down to a beach. Mind you there are a lot of stairs to climb, but totally worth it. The food is amazing. The hotel has its own private beach.. far away from the busy bits of Samui. We gout upgraded to a pool villa and it was wonderful to have our own pool. I would suggest to always go for the Pool villa or the ones with the hot tub. those are the best ones.
The spa is quite over priced even by Samui standards. But hey ..dont get a massage there.. Hop onto ur scooty and go to Madam Ole who is just 10 mins away and have yourself an aloe vera massage. HIghly recommended.
The hotel is close to a scooter renting place and that is the best way to see Samui. The hotel has its own scooter renting service too. It really is the best way to travel around the island.

How do I begin? A simple thank you could never convey the special kind of gratitude and kinship that we feel toward Centara Villas and the amazing family of staff that it holds, We will forever hold Centara Villas in our hearts as it truly is one of the most enchanting places in the world. Every effort was made and beyond to make our wedding day a dream come true and our time during our visit to centaras the most comfortable and wonderful. This was our second visit and altough centara stole our hearts the first time round the second time was even more fantastic. Tim has worked his magic and brought new improvements to that compliment the charm of centaras to a tee he is an outstanding manager who takes pride in his staff and has genuine interest in the guests enjoyment during you're stay. Lek was equally as brilliant she oversaw all of our wedding plans and made us feel like everything was taken care of. The bar staff again amazing we LOVED happy hour and had fun learning some Thai phrases along the way! Its pure bliss sitting at the bar with a tasty cocktail looking onto the stunning private beach centaras has such a beautiful location I think you would find it hard to beat on the whole island, The restaurant staff are all attentive and its always a pleasure getting service with a smile every day! Although there may be abit of a wait occasionally if it is busy we understood that they all worked hard to get you're order to you in best time possible, anyway the food is definitely worth waiting for! The room we got was nothing short of fabulous! We were upgraded to a sea view villa and sea view it was! It was wonderful to wake up to such a view every morning it sure helped the hangovers! The maids were great fresh towels and linen on the bed everyday and two complimentary bottles of water each day was a perfect touch. Wifi in our room was a bit shaky at times but it didnt bother us as there was wifi found in the bar/restaurant/reception and this was more than enough for us. Nearby the hotel there are few restaurants the fishermans and barracuda both nice for a change, there is an aquarium not far from centaras which is a worthwile day out and is another beach there too which was beautiful, the cool bar down the beach from centaras is brilliant way for meeting people we met some fantastic folk and had some fantastic nights spent with them! The Spa Cenvaree is a must visit absolutely brilliant. A special personal thanks to Sao and "Chief" for helping soothe the wedding nerves on our big day! Im going on a bit so hope this review was helpful! Much love to Centara Villas and all of the staff,
Mr & Mrs McDowall x

Sorry for the delay in responding to such a great review catching up with reviews like this after a trip away is a pleasure.
We are delighted that you enjoyed your wedding, it is always a privilege for the team to be invited to assist in arranging such an important event and your comments have been passed to the team. Weddings at Centara Villas Samui are special as the location and quietness of the beach lend itself to such occasions, we agree with your comments and are very proud of our location here in the South of Samui.
Hopefully we will see you come back to celebrate many anniversaries with us.

My wife and I arrived back yesterday from centara villas samui 14th May, after spending 3 weeks there we can honestly say that we are truly relaxed and chilled, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left I must say I have never met in my entire life such a warm and hospitable nation of people that in itself is truly remarkable in today's world ,every person we met just couldn't do enough for us and treated us with such warmth and affection, we arrived at Centara Villas samui , and we were met by a charming young lady who gave us a cold towel and refreshing drink which was very much appreciated as it was so hot, she explained the layout of the hotel and went off to sort our room out , we were given room 212 which was a pool villa set amongst the most beautiful tropical plants overlooking the sea ,we both knew that this was going to be a special holiday and it most definitely was. On our second day there the bell rang to our villa and I was presented with a cake and fruit and card wishing us a happy anniversary from one of the hotel staff it was such a lovely gesture as it was our 25th wedding anniversary on that day . The food in the hotel was absolutely gorgeous and we ate there on a few occasions but we were told by a friend who visited here two years ago to try the other restaurants just down the road which we did and there food was also out of this world but a lot cheaper than centara, but the quality of presentation or location was not the same as Centara, however let me say that all three restaurants fishermans outlet, baanlamom, and barracuda are well worth every penny and our favorite one was barracuda we ate here most nights and you must try there garlic fried rice it's a must,we were also told to visit the cool bar just down the road but unfortunately we found it closed due to this being Samuis slow or quiet time of year. We ventured out on several excursions and on one day we were waiting for our pick up from the hotel lobby when the assistant manager introduced himself to us , he gave us some fascinating information about the island and local history and we spoke for nearly an hour until our lift arrived he then said if there was anything he could help us with do not hesitate to ask,I've explained earlier that Thai people can not do enough for you and this was just one of the examples, words cannot describe what a stunning country this is,and how warm friendly and genuine the people really are. Don't take my word for this go check it out for yourself .Thank You to all the staff and I mean All the staff from the housekeepers, gardeners , maintainance, bar staff ,lobby staff chefs and managers for making this a wonderful 25th anniversary and we will definitely be returning . THANK YOU CENTARA VILLAS.
