Nice spot to spend a bit of time in this small town.
Nothing much else to do around here. Mostly people passing through to head to Kuantan.

Nice and warm place to visit when you at Pekan. Can learn about local royal things. The environment was new, not like many other museum. Park outside the museum has nice art things.

Well preserve history by the local authority. Worth the visit! It was kind of creepy yet very knowledgeable trip to do. We get to know well of the state history. Very friendly reception.

I would recommended everyone to experience new dimension of museum in Malaysia. Sultan Abu Bakar in Pekan Pahang really give new definition on how a museum should look like. Come and experience yourself and decide whether worth or not to come to Pekan just to visit this museum. Ideal for historians, families, students...my advise is come and experience yourself...

We (parents+4kids) were immediately captured by the warm and cosy atmosphere and it felt as if we entered the Sultans residence. The sound of live music played on traditional instruments and beckoned us to enter the residence further. The displays of artifacts and Royal memorabilia is well done and up to international standards (first in Malaysia for me). We also learned more about the malaysian aboriginals which have been given a prominent display. Well worth it, our smallest kids were dancing of excitement, the elder ones were impressed!

p.s. There is some mixup in displayed dates of BC (Before Christ) AD (After Christ) and H (Hijri islamic calendar = 622 AD) in the english translated display texts.
