I have eaten here a few times and it never fails to amaze me. The food is incredible! Obviously a very creative and skilled chef creating its menu. Lovely mackerel rolled by roast beef. Definately recommend

Wow! What a find. We orginally booked a table here thinking we'd opt for the Pizza, but so glad we didn't! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome, the waitress spoke highly of the owners, explaining that one was the chef. She was very knowledgable, complimented our choice of food and recommended wine. In our opinion, we think the chef must be well travelled, becasue the dishes he created were authentic and the flavours for all three courses were explosive. I now understand food critics when they talk about the different flavours during the eating process. Would love to return one day. Thank you for a truely amazing food experience.

We had heard so many good things about this restaurant so we booked for a Friday evening.

It was absolutely packed, we had to park quite a way down the road, which was not a problem as it was a nice evening. We strolled into the right hand side of this restaurant, only obvious entrance, and advised the staff member we had a reservation and they offered us a table. Does not seem much of a problem, but 2 things which I feel let it down,

1. They did not advise that in fact you there was no waitress service and you had to go to the bar to order drinks and food. Not a problem when you know you have to do this.

2. We were surprised that they only offered 3 types of pizza and a small selection of tapas like dishes. But made the assumption they must have changed the type of menu and food being offered. Only when writing this review and checking their web site that I see they also have a dinner menu, which I am assuming must have been served in the left hand side of the pub. We were not asked by the staff which restaurant we had booked for. Unless on a Friday night all they offer is pizza and tapas.

The pizza and tapas were very good, however fairly expensive. As they can only cook 2 pizza's at a time it was a little longer than expected, but to be fair they did advise of this at the start.

So although what we had was good, I am confused and disappointed about our evening at the Richmond Arms, as we were expecting to dine in the restaurant and eat from their normal dinner menu as this is what we had heard was very good. So I think the staff member we saw first made the mistake and did not ask if we had booked the skittle alley bar or the main restaurant.

We have eaten here many times and we have not once had a bad meal. Staff are fantastic and helpful - I have often been downsold dishes to tempt me to try something new. The attention to the quality of the produce along with the best cooking in the area. Downside the dining room is tiny so you cannot always get a table because it is that good - oh well just have to settle for the skittle alley gourmet pizzas and tapas next door! Thank you Richmond Arms.

The Richmond Arms is not near anywhere, but why should it be? It takes a bit of effort to get there but you won’t regret it. What was a village pub is now a restaurant of some class. You can still sit outside with a pint or two but inside is set out for informal restaurant dining. The menu is tempting, the ingredients are fresh and local, and the tastes are mouth-watering. There’s also a pizzeria open at week-ends. It has a traditional pizza oven in an old French van (Don’t ask, just enjoy!).
