Meroom is relatively central in Phuket Old Town. Surrounded by massage parlours and various shops. The staff are really friendly and accommodating, always a smile when greeting you. The safe is small and doesn’t lock to anything so not too ‘safe’, but we felt secure enough in the hotel to not need it.

It’s easy to get around from, just down from the Surin Circle Clock Tower. A 7-11 is on the street behind, a similar ‘Family Mart’ is on the same road. Cheap and great food is available from local street restaurants - Mee Ton Poe and Kota Khao Mun Kai, all these within 3 minutes walk.

We spent two nights here strait from an overnight flight. We got off the plane then walked over to the domestic side of the airport and jumped onto a local bus into the Old Phuket town costing 100 Baht per person instead of 600-700.baht for a taxi. The bus took us to the bus station where we asked for directions, no one had heard of Meroom Hotel, if you are going to this hotel asked for Ocean shopping mall or Robinson these places are well known and opposite the hotel. The room was exactly as shown in the advertisement Access to the room is via a steep staircase which gives you a bad first impression. The room bathroom was a glass enclosure affair with a curtain for privacy which is common in Phuket, free WiFi was good. There was a small safe in the room too small for an IPad but ok for passports etc. Tea and coffee was not in the room but was free down stairs, go down and enjoy a cup with the locals.
The area has plenty of local restaurants and real massage shops but if you crave a Mac Donald’s there’s one at the end of the street.
This place is very good if you are looking for a Thai experience, the room was clean and excellent value for money.

The gentleman on Reception gave me a warm welcome and checked me in efficiently, while providing me with a useful one-page map with recommendations. The cute room had everything you needed, e.g. water, fridge, hairdryer, TV (English) and toiletries.

NB: (to make your stay more comfortable)
- The bed is very comfortable but short so it's not ideal for tall guests
- Be aware there is quite a bit of light pollution so the room is not pitch black when the light goes off at night

I liked my room at MeRoom.

It was a higher end of budget accommodation. Great Value!

The staff were very kind and accommodating.

There's a nail place and massage parlour right next door, and a KFC and McDonald's down the street.

And it was within walking distance of coffee shops and a pancake restaurant.

The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean, bright and with good AC and fast Wi-Fi.

If I ever end up in this area of Phuket again, I will book this hotel!

P.s. says here on listing free breakfast, but this was not the case. Unsure if because ours didn't include it or maybe another reason. Just a heads up.

Lovely modern room on the top floor and the owner helps you with bags if you need.

The bed was softer than all other thailand beds we have been on and had two pillows each. The room was nice and clean and the WiFi was good.

The room is a little strange with the bathroom being curtained off but once you just accept it... brilliant place to stay
