“Location and service wins handsdown”

We arrived late and were collected from the train station by the owner and warmly welcomed. The hotel is situated almost next to the temple. We were on a budget and it was poya but still our host accommodated us, we had a backpacker fan room for two nights and then an air conditioned room whilst I was unwell. Both rooms were clean and roomy. The air conditioned room had hot water. The owner must be thanked for his kind help in getting me to a local doctor and even finding egg hoppers for my son as these were not on his menu. The service and kindness of the owner was fantastic. However, the one meal we had in the restaurant was not so great. The room service soup while I was unwell was lovely so maybe our one meal was just an off day. Lounging in the pavilion in the garden with the temple lit up behind was a highlight on the trip. Local travel advice and help arranging tuk tuks was particularly helpful. Would definitely go back.

What a lovely place this is with a very warm welcome and a nice personal touch. Ranjith, the owner, is a great storyteller and gave us some good advice about the surrounding of Mihintale and Anuradhapura and he will help you wherever he can to make you feel happy. On top of that the rooms smell fresh, the garden is chilled out with many relaxed spots plus the family and staff are very friendly and helpfull. They also arranged bycicles which is ideal for this beautiful area.

With the quality of a hotel this place feels like a guesthouse. For us this was a perfect place to end our trip in Sri Lanka.

At Saji-Sami hotel we stayed three nights. Very relaxing place with excellent service. The owner will gladly help if you need any advice. We had hot water and satellite tv (Discovery Channel, NatGeo, Animal Planet, Al Jazeera, BBC, CNN and much more). There is a lovely garden with an outdoor sala overlooking the Mihintale dagoba. There are peacocks, monkeys, mongoose and other animals to be seen in the garden . It's a clean and friendly place to stay and the food is good. You also have WiFi from a hot spot and that will cost you 50 RP for one hour.

A perfect place to stay if you want to visit the temple ruins of Anuradhapura just only 20 minutes away.
