Absolutely fascinating place. It feels as though you are walking into a bit of private significant history. (I can also highly recommend the homemade lemonade!)

On a short holiday last month in the Isle of Wight we spent a whole day visiting Osborne House. This is a venue full of historic interest, there is so much to be learned of the Victorian era and Queen Victoria's family and influence especially. The House and Grounds are excellent as are also the Swiss Cottage and the beach area. Staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient . The only downside we encountered was in the terrace restaurant where some of the staff were rather condescending, the portions small and the price really too high for the afternoon tea.
The entrance price was reasonable too.
Highly recommended and a good day out.

What a spectacular house. We spent the day here on a rainy bank holiday. The house is truly beautiful with so much to see.
The grounds are huge and well worth the long walk down to the swiss cottage and private beach.
If you make it to the beach try the knickerbocker glory. It's a must!

We enjoyed a wonderful visit to Osborne House recently. There is so much history in this beautifully preserved Victorian house. The gardens, beach and Swiss Cottage also give insight into this period of English history and in particular the lives of Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and their family. We enjoyed a walk down to the beach and then back through the woods on a lovely warm, sunny day and it was delightful. We also had lunch in the Terrace Restaurant which was very nice indeed.

We have seen many many castles in many countries. We spent several hours at Osborne House and enjoyed every minute. It was a great experience, well worth the entry fee and the staff knew so much about Queen Victoria's time at Osborne that any thing we needed to know albeit the pictures on the wall or the furniture they knew intimately.
The garden and park surrounding was fabulous and a lovely walk.
