“A very good German Village Hotel”
Reviewed 27 June 2012

We booked via booking.com after checking out the hotel on Trip. The Hotel is about 5 K off the motorway in a quiet village. The Hotel is two buildings joined together by a rather strange conservatory, nice but different. We stayed in the annex 30 meters from the main hotel. The rooms are very clean, big, simple but comfortable. We parked outside the annex and were assured that it was safe to leave the car fully loaded, we did and it was. The Hotel has the normal stuff you'd expect from a village hotel plus a farm and a whisky distillery!

I had a couple of beers to go with my home grown Pork Fillet, Mushroom Sauce and Butterspätzle. The boss had a Gluten Free mixed Salad with Mushrooms, Bacon and Frites. Both were tasty and good.

Breakfast was something else, a couple of superb homemade raspberry yoghurts served in small glasses set the tone. Freshly prepared fruit salads were great. The bread was fresh and tasty. Someone even went to the trouble of pressing out butter stars, a nice touch. One of the waitresses got the toaster so that we could toast the boss' Gluten Free Bread. The cheeses were wonderful, the coffee is fresh, strong and very drinkable. After we'd eaten a decent amount of breakfast we were served german style bacon and scrabbled eggs, again really tasty!

If you want to eat McDonalds this probably isn't the hotel for you.

However the hotel was full with German travellers and next time we're heading towards Munich we'll be stopping again.

Since 7 years we use this hotel as our stopover on our way to our wintersports destination in Austria. Never have we been disappointed. Clean and cozy rooms combined with an excellent restaurant for our evening meal and an excellent breakfast buffet. We certainly will be back next year. Last year we were here also for a single night in summer and service was of the same high quality. Should you be travelling along the A8, this is the place to stay ! About 20 km west of Ulm.

Neat rooms in German style; clean, comfortable and a bit old-fashioned. Friendly staff and good restaurant. There is an extensive menu and the breakfast buffet is more than you can eat.

We stayed here as a stop over for our ski holiday in Austria. There was a lot of snow in the village and on the road to the hotel. So beware if you are going there during winter.

The staff is very friendly and is always around. They even have their own whiskey distillery.
