Description: UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO A FIRE ON THE PREMISES, WE WILL NOT BE SERVING FOOD UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THE BAR IS STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS, AND THIS DOES NOT EFFECT THE RUNNING OF OUR HOTEL ON SITE IN ANY WAY. Privately owned Free House dating back to 1741, in the quiet village of Sherington offering a varied range of real ales and ciders together with a selection of wines to accommodate all tastes. Food available from snacks and tapas to full meals in the bar or restaurant. A relaxing cosy atmosphere for both drinking and eating. Four individually designed bedrooms with en-suite facilities situated in a converted barn, opposite the main building. The perfect base for a business or leisure stay. This is a brilliant place to hold a wedding reception, party or a celebration!

Loved this quaint village pub and the warm welcome from the staff. We had Christmas dinner for 9 and the food was excellent - well presented and very tasty.
The only disappointment was there appeared to be only 1 waitress and as the restaurant filled up, she was run off her feet! However she was very charming and helpful and did a great job looking after us.

We were looking for a place for a good roast beef locally and had enjoyed many a good beer and festival at the White Hart. The beef was thickly cut topside, not expensive but also barely cooked and and so chewy we left most. The gravy is an atrocity, has probably never seen a roasted bone or vegetable in it's life and was more or less lightly thickened flavoured water. The Yorkshire pudding was edible but not worth of a second mark. Back to school, maybe, for the chef unfortunately.

My wife and I stayed for 3 days, the accomodation was tastefully decorated with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious with a great shower, we also had both breakfast and evening meals which were both tasty and filling, overall our stay was excellent and we would not hesitate to book to stay again, its a typical village pub and gets very busy in the evenings but the atmosphere is great.I

We just moved to Milton Keynes and have started exploring the area. We saw a Groupon voucher for a tapas menu in this pub and decided to try it as Sherington would make a nice stop in our exploring day: Newton Pagnell and Onley. I'm Spanish and missing good tapas, so I was quite curious. Sherington is a very nice village, proper old British with plenty of thatched cottages, and this pub was lovely. Staff was very friendly, beach deco everywhere, and the tapas menu was very nice although a bit limited. It took about half an hour to get the food on the table but I think it was because the bread was homemade. Plenty of food for 2 with the voucher, good tapas. Offer was towards a value of £25 in the tapas menu, so we had 5 tapas at £4.75 each for half the price. We had the Spanish omelette, lovely chorizo and pepper, mushroon chicken, lamb koftas and calamari, and it came with bread and olives included to make up for the difference. I had asked for prawns but they had run out, so we had the koftas instead. Not real Spanish food, but with a nice twist which I really liked, the chef made his/her own dishes and the Spanish omelette (tortilla de patatas) was lovely and unusual. The chorizo dish was rich and both my husband and I thought it was very nice, just the opposite as other review, it's a matter of taste. We found an excellent place we would be happy to revisit and can definitely recommend.

We visited the pub today. The pub looks beautiful and the area it is in is lovely. Great pub for walking the dog and popping in for a pint. We bought a groupon for tapas up to the value of £25. The deal on the website was 5 tapas at £4.75 and bread and alioli. When we got there it was just 5 tapas only. Which doesn't add up to £25 but we just left it, and ordered chips (which we paid for) We were sat there for about 30 mins without eating anything waiting for our tapas. When it arrived it looks lovely however it didn't taste great. It was very rich and sickly. The chips and the whitebait was very nice the peri peri prawns were horrid and the chorizo stew, the sauce was just so rich.

The pub food like chips and burger etc might be really nice but we have been put off going back because of the tapas. Les Olives in Northampton charge about the same and that is proper amazing tapas. The pub is really nice and the staff were really friendly so we might go back for a drink with the dog just might not eat.
