Had an okay day here.

It's a bit pricey!

Everyone has to pay for riding pass. Many parks has one entering price and one for riding passes Tusenfryd has not.

The rides are spread, so you have to walk a bit. But that's okay.

But what I feel is not so great or okay are the prices on food an drinks. That's defiantly overpriced and what is worse is the bad quality on the food!
So pack your lunch and dinner!

It's an none smoking park so if you smoke you have to leave the park to smoke!
It's good for the kids, but it means that you have to plane you trip a bit more if your traveling with small kids and do smoke.

Loved the SpongeBob SquarePants show that are there this year! And that when the park open SpongeBob and his friends great you as you enter.

Over all we had an okay day!
But I do really feel that it was an overpriced day.

I have been working here for a couple of years:
-Opening: different times, different days in different months, do check it here before you plan to go : http://www.tusenfryd.no/no/apningstider
-Car: This amusement park is located almost 20 km away from Oslo. If you are driving to get there, there´s a parking fee, 50 krones per car right outside it. You are usually shown parking lots abit far (3-4 minutes of walking uphill, but it´s quiet tiring in the morning to run out of energy, you are actually going to walk uphill in the park as well, save the energy). When you are late, you will of course get even further from the park tip find a parking lot. So I recommend that you are out early.
-Bus: from Oslo, every 15 mins. Bus 541 Drøbak/TusenFryd, and the stop is at Jernbanetorget (Fred Olsens gate). This is a bit hard to find, so it´s smarter to ask people near the Tiger to show you where the Tusenfryd bus stops, and that way it´s easier to find it (Green buses)! There are also other buses passing by Tusenfryd, but they are even harder to find and schedule. Recommended to buy the tickets before hand and not onboard, they will cost you adult 50 and children under 18 yrs for 25. Onboard you will pay 20 krones more!!!! which makes it very expensive.
-Prices: very expensive. But they have a height-dependent price system: under 120 cm is 315 krones if you buy there. Buy it online (if you have printer facilities) more than a week before, and it will cost you 269. Over 120 would be 389 kr, and 299 more than a week before. This really makes Norway sound expensive!
-The attractions: I would say, they are also height-dependent. The ones over 120 cm can ride anything in this park, for free, except for Sky coaster which cost almost 200 kr for a ride. But everything else is of course free. For those under 120 cm, there are strict restrictions. You children are being measured, and are you under 120, you then are, and there is no point in starting a fight with workers, and make a fuss. So measure your child before you go in and prepare them of this situation, that they are not gonna be able to take a ride on everything they want to. The restrictions and a measure is outside every single attraction here, measure yourselves before you go in, if you have doubt. I have as mentioned been working here for 3 years, I know they have very strict restrictions because of the childs safety to say no, and a no is a no, believe me!
-Food: mostly anything you wish for, with very high prices.
-Toilets, wheelchair-users, safes, cash-machine and so on: YES!
-Restrictions for the unable ones, wheelchair users and so on: non, as long as they make the height. They get a free-line-pass when they go in, and don´t stand in the line. Which is really a plus.
-Swiming pool: yes, at the right time of the year.
-Waiting: when the weather is good and it´s in the middle of summer, yes, the lines are LONG!
-Overall experience: definitely a very good one. Despite being very expensive, it´s worth the visit for both the children and adults, a great way to have fun. They definitely live up to the high expectations because of the price. It´s very popular for norwegians to visit the park to days in a row ( you get your second ticket for much cheaper, called a second-day ticket). There are hotels located in Oslo and the cities around Vinterbro and Ski.
-Staff: they are very polite, helping, and friendly. Ask questions whenever needed.

Please do make sure your children get this height system, some children really feel like their day is ruined when they find out they can´t go on a ride with some this attractions.

Have a fun day.

This theme park has a couple of good rides, but not anywhere near enough to justify the entrance fees.
The food is okay at best, but expensive.
All stands and "carnival games" are expensive as well, and they are of course rigged, as such games always are.
You have to pay extra for some of the attractions.
It's clean (the toilets could do with a check up a bit more often), wheelchair accessible (if you have someone to push you, or an electric wheel chair,) and the atmosphere is good.
Their new attraction "Thors hammer" was a complete let down, and so was the show of the season: "Spongebob Squarepants". (Even the kids were yawning during the show..)
The staff are polite though, and the kids love this place.
I'd recommend packing food and drinks in a cooler and renting a "trolley" to drag it around in.
Also make sure you have lots of time on your hands, 'cause the queues are endless at times. Almost all of the rides had technical problems for a short period of time when we visited, and a technician had to inspect them all..

With my hubby and nephews we sure had a blast. But as we have also been to Disney World and Disney Land, Terra Mitica in Spain; this park is very poor. It's small, with a really small waterpark inside. We did have fun, as allways though. But the prices are stiff, and there are maybe two restauraunts there. A pizza and a buffet restauraunt. We went for the 'pizzaverkstedet' pizza restauraunt and after ordering and paying for the pizza- it arrived to our table 45 minutes later! That should not happen in an amusement park or anywhere... Because the time we have in the park is so valueable.. So we sat there hungry as bears, waiting for 45 minutes! I've read other reviuews that som had to wait up to 1,5 hour!
Why don't they do anything about this!?
But hey, there were one really cool ride called speed monster wich was incredible! And the stuff everywhere was allways smiling and polite and happy. Next year I will rather go someplace else ;-)
