Beautiful place. The staff are amazing and the food and drink are great. Lovely place to relax. The beach is cleared everyday, by men that work very hard. This is a luxury, to have such a clean beach. When we go to Ghana again, we would stay here again. We had the whole place to ourselves for a few days, and the staff really looked after us.

I've stayed here on two ocassions with my two young daughters. The staff are friendly and patient especially with children. The lifeguards are a welcome sight. The food is very good and the accommodation is up to scratch. Getting to it is a wonderful little adventure for the kids as you pass through the village and if you are lucky having you're route blocked by a flock of vultures.

Just returned from a weekend at Sisimbo and thought I had to review it because I would love to return, but would find it very difficult because of the poor quality of the food.

We had a great time relaxing on an absolutely wonderful stretch of beach, which is really kid friendly (ours are 2 and 3.5 years old) The seating just off the beach is great and the staff are attentive and have a positive attitude, the service from check-in to check-out was excellent.

I only have one major complaint and that is the appalling food... "grilled" fish that was actually fried in loads of oil... chips that left ones mouth coated in cold cooking oil, "grilled" chicken that was also fried and very oily. (The crime is that there is fresh fish caught in front of the resort by the local fisherman and fresh catch of the day is not on the menu) The food was highly priced for extremely poor quality and there is no alternative, so there is absolutely no way we would return until this has been sorted out. Sisimbo is a lovely resort, it is not cheep, but the service and location make it totally worthwhile, please sort your restaurant out, get a consultant to come and re-design your menu and train your staff, because that was far below acceptable. yuk!

Spent a week end there. I loved everything about the scenery and the low pace of the area.
The resort itself was also pleasant. Nice coconut grove, great rooms, lots of chilling spots, comfy chairs by the sea and nice atmosphere generally speaking.

The staff is more than competent ( It can be a luxury to deal with competent staff in Ghana) kuddos for that!
The food is tasty and rapidly served. I still think the menu should be available on the website so that people who have never been there can plan the cash they want to carry with them.
Price ranges for a meal from 20 to 50 ghc ( depending on your choice of course)

That's an excellent place to spend a restful week end! You will love it even more if you have children. (there is a game zone dedicated to kiddies)
Our room was nice, clean and well decorated. Same for the big bathroom!
They provide lots of towels, that is really cool. You wont have to carry too many stuff with you to enjoy Sisimbo!

Although there are places that I love much more than Sisimbo on the same coast I TOTALLY RECOMMEND this resort!
Give it a try!

My wife and I spend a week-end at Sisimbo to give it a try, We've visited a lot of beach resorts within the region and can say that we were well please with Sisimbo and would recommend it.
Pro:
Clean, well mannered staff ,great and fast service.
As all well conserved beaches, you'll need at least a 4x4 to reach Sismbo, you will find more than enough signage to direct you there.

The rooms are well maintained and very clean, the only issue we had was a funny sound from the A/C due to the fluctuation of the electricity during the night but we still had a nice sleep.
We faced no water issues.

The beach is very clean and the presence of the life guard is reassuring.

Good WIFI connection is freely available.

Con:
One thing you will have to keep in mind is that you can't pay any of the service with a Visa or any other cards,so you will need to carry a sizable amount of money on you when getting there (something that i don't fancy) to cover for the expenses.
The closest ATMs (at Mankessim) work erratically ,the only remaining option is a 30min to 45min drive to Cape Coast.

I think Sismbo Management will do well to think about have a POS for payment , something that will allow us to enjoy more without having to thing of going far to re-cash and cone to pay.

Room Tip: Ask for any of the luxury room if you are 2 and more than 5 ft tall , the standard room felt a bit s...

We spent 3 days at Sisimbo and had a fantastic time with children and friends.

The beach is great, clean and safe (with 2 Sisimbo life guards on watch). The rooms were the best we had in Ghana and the restaurant serves good food with less waiting time than the 2 hour Ghana standard.

The place is not cheap, but affordable and worth every cedi.

We have been to Sisimbo twice, the first time over a year ago. It's great to see a place that has got better over time. It still has the wonderful beach that goes on forever, and palm trees providing lots of shade across the resort. The rooms have been well maintained and are comfortable. Experience elsewhere in Ghana suggest that it's easy to let the rooms and other facilities decay quite quickly. But everything seems to be well looked after. The big plus this time was the improved service - quite attentive, drinks delivered quickly, lots of cold drinks and ice at the ready. And the food - a big improvement on our first visit - still quite basic, but tasty. Great fish. Make sure you order your food a few hours in advance - they have that system well sorted out, so the food then arrives when you want. Little they can do about the fairly rough sea, and the inevitable few plastic bags in the sea. And it could all be a bit more polished, for the price, but we will be going back, and really looking forward to it.

Room Tip: The camping is remarkably cheap, $15 including breakfast, with your own tent. If you can manage with...
