Living relatively local to the area we have tried The Corkscrew on a couple of occasions and have been pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is in a converted bungalow which belies the pretty interior. Menu is a little more imaginative than the standard fayre. I had the calves liver starter which was really nice although just slightly overcooked and pork belly main which had a good crispy skin. There is only a wine license at present , but I believe a full spirit and beer license is imminent. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Its open all day and being close to a school can be a little too busy when school finishes.
definitely worth a try !!
