After reading numerous excellent reviews of Le Vigne, we visited with high hopes.

While the service was excellent and friendly and the staff could not be faulted, we felt that we'd experienced better food (and better value) at other eateries in Tuscany (and nearby).

Having experienced some exceptional Tuscan food during our visit, Le Vigne's offering came up a little short.

Possibly trying too hard to serve up 'what tourists want/expect', the food was too rich, slightly stodgy and portions were excessive (having found that the best Italian restaurants judge their portion sizes to perfection).

Moreover, the prices reflected their clearly tourist-centric focus.

You'll find better value for money and more traditional offerings elsewhere, sadly.

We enjoyed our meal at Le Vigne, but it wasn't what everyone raves about.
The service was good and the meal was fine - I wanted it to be great.
We had the local meat and cheese platter to start - a nice tray with good variety of meat, but just two little cheeses.
For dinner my husband had the steak with grilled vegetables, which he said was good, but simple and no sauce or much flavour added to the steak. If you are steak purest, you would love it.
I had the boar with nuts. Boar is super tasty and the meal could have been amazing but it was drowned in olive oil. I am a girl who likes her olive oil, especially in Italy, but it was just too much.
If you are near Radda and wanting a change from eating in Radda, this is a good alternative.

Beautiful setting outside overlooking the vineyards. Great food and service. expect to spend two hours having dinner and save room for desert.

La Vigne was a bit tricky to find, but well worth the quest. A simple website with clear directions would surely double the number of customers. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the surrounding farm. The usual antipasto of salamis was enhanced by fresh pears and delicious fried zucchini blossom. We enjoyed the unusual duck ragu, served with cheese over local pasta and the casserole of wild boar served with nuts and “potato cream”. The desserts of tiramisu and semifreddo were average quality but beautifully presented. The setting and quality of the food make this place a real treat.

We ate here twice while staying in Villa Vistarenni for our wedding this summer. I could not recommend the place enough. We were in Italy for three weeks in total for our wedding and honeymoon and ate in several amazing places, including Michelin-starred restaurants in Tuscany and the Amalfi, but nothing beat the value that we got at this place.

We tried three of their pasta dishes (the tagliatelle with truffle oil was to die for) and their boar and meat dish (cooked in a red wine reduction). We loved it so much we had to come back to bring our family here, and recommended it to all our guests who were staying in the area.

The wine list is comparable to those of other restaurants in the area. Of course there is a markup compared to buying wines directly from a vineyard/supermarket, but we did not find the markup to be outrageous as the previous reviewer suggested. We had a comparison point because one of the wines served was actually the wine we served at our wedding -- from Villa Vistarenni.

We should also mention the service -- the waiters were incredibly friendly and gave us the same "welcome hospitality" feeling we got in all of Tuscany.

We will definitely go out of our way to come back to this excellent restaurant in the future.
