“A perfect stay in Tuscany”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

When we arrived after a search in Radda, we saw a palazzo wich was perfectly integrated in the nature of the vineyard and the view over the pool was sublime
The room superior with high ceilings , large bathroom and aspecially the great wide balcony, was the perfect place to stay
A breakfast to widen your waist with fresh fruit and nice cake's , certainly served with a very good friendly staff, was ideal to start the day
In the evening a good sauna complex with water and tea, turkish bath, and you could never forget this place

Room Tip: the superior room was worth the money

The Campomaggio exceeded our expectations. We rented the 3 bedroom apartment and it was spacious and very comfortable. Two bedrooms had King size beds and the 3rd bedroom had two singles. There were 2 large full bathrooms a dinning room, living room and a small kitchen. In addition there was a spiral staircase to a tower with great views. The grounds were beautiful and the overall views breath taking. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. You must have an automobile since you are isolated in the country side of Tuscany. 15-30 minutes from places to eat and shop. The Campomaggio does not have a place for lunch or dinner.

Room Tip: If you have a larger group or family the 3 bedroom apartment is a great solution.

The setting, the hotel itself, the rooms, the breakfast - this was everything and more than you'd hope for from a resort in the beautiful Tuscan hills.
It was even more picturesque than the website made it look.
A huge part of making it special was the waiter at breakfast (Iliar?) who remembered our multiple coffee orders and made us feel extremely welcome. Some staff are priceless and he is one for sure.
The rooms were large, the bathrooms posh, the breakfast plentiful and the overall feel was one of superior luxury. I cannot recommend this place enough. We saw a couple of other hotels on our travels around the region and none looked as well kept and inviting as this place.
The only recommendations I would make, which did not detract from our stay, would be that I personally would have liked the spa facilities to ben open for slightly longer hours, and our bathroom which looked out onto the carpark could have done with a better curtain! Still, if that's all I have to mention it must show how impressed I really was!
Thanks to all the staff.

We booked a junior suite and were quite disappointed with the room. The room was quite large and had high ceiling and a very big bed, but it had really cold stone floors and had not the view you would expect from a junior suite, it was actually placed nearest to the parking lot on ground level which provided a good view into the room and the room was also quite dark. The bathroom was clean and very designed, but not very functional. When taking a shower in the bathtub, the whole bathroom went wet and the towels did not dry at all during the 2 nights stay. That said, the rest of the hotel looks really nice and the pool area is nice with beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was good and served in the courtyard outdoors. The hotel does not serve dinner, but there are plenty of nice restaurants close-by and the personnel offer good advice on where to go.

Room Tip: Do not pay for a junior suite. Not sure about the standard of the other rooms, but there seems to be...

Dear Guest,

All the staff thank you very much for the feedback.

About your room, we are very sorry that your expectations have not been met. If you would be so kind to take a look again to the information on our website you can read that anywhere it's not specified that the Junior Suite has a view. The hotel is housed in an ancient building, so some rooms only have the view. The clients for whom it 's important the view require it expressly in the reservation, we suggest you to do it always for your next trips, regardless of the type of room chosen.

Then you felt the cold floor because in whole hotel in the summer works a system of cooling floor. It 'a much more healthy then air conditioning, that however we have, we are sorry that you didn't appreciate it.

However, we hope will be our guest again in the future.

best regards from Chianti

Villacampomaggio is a nice hidden place, where (in the middle of the tuscan country side) you can go back to the past and feel a Lord or or Madame.

Rooms are spacoius (at leadt mine n 11), clean, realky well presented. Wireless working properly, and bathroom properly equiped.

Breakfast is served in a nice little square, good variety, local ham an cheese and home made cakes.

Swimming pool is a little gem, overlooking the countryside.

I have used sauna and turkish bath, which were fine. Body Massage and scrub was excellent.

Staff are kind, informal, very helpful.
One suggestion do not give for granted that people travel in 2.... But it is also true that this is a tipycal location for couple in love!

Will definitely be back there. It was a good retreat.

Wonderful setting, in a beautiful zone of Toscana. Everyone was extremely nice and tried to accomodate our needs. The hotel has no restaurant (just a basic menu in case of wanting to eat something fast), but this is no problem as there are a large number of great restaurants very close by.
