“Delicious Rainy Night Dinner!”
Reviewed 20 January 2014

We visited this restaurant on a rainy January night when nothing else in Radda was open--and we're glad that we did! The atmosphere was welcoming, the owner was friendly, the food was fantastic...how much more do you need? Somehow, others found the restaurant too, and everyone enjoyed the bruschetta fresh off the grill and visible to us all, the florentine steak, (massive, 2 pound giant--cooked on the open hearth), the complimentary vegetables, etc. I had tasty gnocchi with gorgonzola and nuts, my husband had a good zucca pasta, the loin of boar was wonderful, the chianti flowed...and our bill was 30 euros less than at the other restaurants in town! The pannacotta with wild berry sauce was a fitting end to a memorable dinner. (They also serve pizza, but noone ordered pizza while we were there, so can't comment on it!)

warm, family vibe and tasty honest food - set menu was excellent and ridiculously good value at EUR30 including a couple of glasses of lovely red. a really "local" experience.

“Pizzas from Paradise”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

We went to this pizzeria with our children and with a group of friends, including a couple who have a home nearby and are clearly valued 'regulars' at this restaurant. It was wonderful. The pizzas were heavenly if you like the wood burning stove, thin crust variety (which we do). Everything was extremely fresh and delicious, with warm, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. We would definitely go back - and would be regulars too if we lived nearby. Go!

“You will enjoy this”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Our first night into our villa in Radda in Chianti we stumbled upon this restaurant as little else appeared open. We returned for our last night as well. If you can imagine twelve people showing up at a restaurant without reservations and being seated immediately it will give you some idea of the hospitality we enjoyed. Little English is spoken but you can tell that the owner will go out of his way to make you feel welcome. The food is excellent, the wood fired pizzas exceptional. We did come back one afternoon to sit on the veranda, enjoy a brewski or two and bask in the sun and the view. If you are staying in Radda you must eat here at least once. Yes, pizzas only on the weekend as they must fire up the wood oven. Just plan your week around it.

“Disappointing & way too crowded”
Reviewed 11 August 2013 via mobile

We went based on TA reviews and without a booking so were initially pleased they fitted us in. However they also tried to fit in everyone else who arrived by bringing out more and more tables. Hence they had far more customers than they could cope with and service was very slow. A queue also built up with people willing others to leave so it was not at all the relaxing and romantic meal we were looking for. The food was very mediocre too so can't understand why it was so busy. Back to the car we passed several lovely looking restaurants we wished we had opted for. If you do go, go early if you want a table with a view and don't expect fantastic food or service - or avoid August!
