“Tuscany on a plate!”
Reviewed 18 September 2013

We have just had lunch today at le Forchette - came across it by chance and now hoping that we can fit in a return visit before the end of the week! It's not on the main tourist trail, so you need to seek it out - locals go there, and you can see why because the food is obviously home made and fresh, with daily specials as well....Quite simply, this was the best meal we have had in Italy since we arrived a week ago. Simple menu which encompasses the best of Tuscany - wonderful, delicious, light home made pasta, truffles, wild boar, those tomatoes, of course! Fabulous puddings (a good panacotta, but an even better homemade cheesecake, but not like you've tasted before!).....Can't comment on the wine list, as we stuck to a carafe of house white which was perfectly light and delicious. No problems at all with service - all charming and efficient, and very welcoming to our two labradors (as are all Italians, it seems!). A truly memorable meal - it's what I dreamed Italy would be all about! Thank you Elena and Sandra - and the lovely lady cooking - your Mama?

“Outcharming!”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

In the lovely town of Radda in Chianti, every restaurant beckons with some kind of charm, but Le Forchette situated away from it all, offers charm, views and wonderful food. We enjoyed a leisurely Sunday afternoon meal with perhaps the finest caprese salad on our 10 days trip to Rome and Chianti. Why are the vegetables so much better in Italy-with or without a glass of wine?
We enjoyed the pasta of the day; the pace of the meal; and splurged on a chocolate dessert which was worth every single calorie.

“A tad too simple”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

Dined here one evening last week. The situation is very pretty with wonderful views from across the road. The menu is all appetizers and first courses, including pastas. We found the food to be adequate but nothing special. The service however was distinctly lacking, several orders such as more wine and our coffees had to be repeated twice and even three times.

“Service issues!”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

We stumbled on this cafe /restaurant when looking for somewhere to eat while on holiday in Radda.
On entering the restaurant at 8pm there were very few others diners.
We ordered within a reasonable time and the antpasti was very pleasant. They forgot the wine and other tables were being served main courses ahead of us.We tolerated this for a while but it became obvious we had been overlooked after about 45 mins!We reminded them which didn't go down too well with the waitress, who checked verbally what we had ordered.Miraculously the food arrived two minutes later(easy as it was only pasta).
The food was ok but the overall experience was ruined. The manager tried to make good by giving us complimentary limoncello....which was very nice.
This may be a good restaurant but our experience didn't find it so.

“Fantastic Food”
Reviewed 14 June 2013

This little cafe is great for lunch or a simple but delicious evening meal. We invariably eat there 3 days out of a 7 day holiday and we have visited Radda 3 times.
