“Great hotel - very modern”
Reviewed 27 June 2008

Great hotel. A little off the beaten path and took some time to find - almost thought we were lost several times, but we weren't...but worth the drive. We drove around a LOT and had no problems getting places once we initially found the hotel. Amazing view of Raddi in Chianti from our bedroom window. Very modern, very clean rooms. Gorgeous exterior and property. Very accomidating staff that speak English very well and helped us with directions. Very nice bathroom, full of marble. Very yummy breakfast and we got a great rate through the hotel's website.

Highly recommend this hotel.

The room was clean and large and basic. Alexis at the front desk did her job somewhat begrudgingly but effectively. Both the ice machine and vending machine were out of order. The smell of chlorine does permeate the halls. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were ok. We would probably not stay here again.

I was at My One Hotel Radda last week end with my girlfriend..
The hotel is impressive from the outside and inside the magnificent hall full of white sofas...
The location and the view on Chianti hills is amazing! The rooms are pretty large and nice with a modern forniture (if you are looking for a rustic accomodation don't go there!..) So what's wrong? The personell is not enough for this kind of hotel.. there was never someone at the bar or at the spa for example.. the poor girl at the reception has to do everything by herself! So the idea that soon starts to grow up is of an amazing structure managed not so well.. maybe it was due to the low season but I don't think so since it was just after Easter...
Anyway: it's a really nice place and the price is good for what you have...

I stayed at the Radda hotel in September along with a number of my friends and family, since I got married in Radda and all the guests booked at this hotel too.

The hotel looks fantastic and the location is fabulous but unfortunately this is where the praise ends.

Almost everyone had a complaint to make and these include:

Room smells of sewage
Quality of breakfast was terrible - stale and unappetising
Lack of staff meant that getting anything was really difficult
Showers were so clogged up with limescale that they were almost impossible to use
No iron at all in hotel - not good when you have guests with smart wedding clothes to iron
Rooms were not cleaned for days

We were told by a disgruntled member of staff that the reason for the bad service was because the hotel had recently been bought by a big chain and that this company were not listening to the feedback going to them from the employees about the lack of staff and poor quality of service.

It's a shame that a hotel that promises so much delivers so little.

Location apart, wouldn't rate this hotel as worth a visit. Main problem was staff, or the lack of them. Reception often unmanned, towels by pool left lying around overnight, and breakfast laid out in manner to involve least possible effort by employees. Also appeared to be an attitude problem, particularly with waiters. I was there in a large group, and everyone shared the same opinion.

We rented 2 rooms at Radda Hotel without checking a review ... mistake! The hotel is absolutely not worth its 4 stars. Rooms are nice but bathrooms are (very) small - our rooms (304 & 306) didn't have a bath, instead we had a sofisticated but very small shower. Breakfast was very poor. Little choice and if you come late (e.g. 9h30 or so), there's hardly anything left. On top of that, the breakfast area was invaded by wasps ... every morning! Dinner is an experience, especially as service is concerned. Staff is arrogant, you're not treated as a guest but more as a nuisance. On top of that, food often is cold or they make mistakes as to what you ordered. One night, hotel personnel (during their day off) had dinner at the restaurant; they were served "special" plates, did not have to wait and were treated as kings. What a difference ...
There is a "wellness" facility but at an extra cost.
The bar is a theoretical thing as it is very difficult to find somebody to serve you a drink. To visit the nearby town of Radda, you need to take your car as it is too far away for a walk.
In short, not a hotel I would recommend to anyone.

The room was very clean. The front desk staff was great. Continental was okay, enough to fill you (muffins, bagels, juice). I would definitely stay here again. The price was reasonable. We didn't use any of the amenities, so can't say anthing about them. For dinner, the hotel recommended "Barley Browns Brewpub" downtown. Wow, the food was fantastic and so were the people. The restaurant has a microbrewery inside, decor very nice. We usually stay In Ontario, Or. but we will now stay in Baker City because of the restaurant and hotel staff.
