“Adorable little town!”
Reviewed 10 October 2013 via mobile

We love Volpaia, 2 or 3 little cafés / restaurant in the heat of the vineyards.
At harvest time, it seems that the whole village partakes in wine making.
It's interesting that the villagers go about their winemaking and everyday life if the tourist walking about seemingly unaffected,

Please don't tell anyone about Volpaia and the surrounding area...it's a secret!

“Tiny Hill Town in the middle of Chianti”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

Volpaia is located near Radda a larger town nearby. Volpaia is worth the short drive from Radda, though stunning Chianti countryside. If your feeling a bit more adventurous, why not drive through from Panzano along the hill top ridges and get stunning views of the valleys, it is a dirt road that is steep and narrow in places, so you need to take it easy and look out for bike riders, who must have got lost or had a few to many wine tastings! Volpaia has a lovely cafe/bar and Ristorante La Bottega with a beautiful outdoor setting overlooking the valley.
Because its a bit out of the way it's very quiet great for a stroll and admire the architecture of this part of the world and look down towards the Chianti wineries that are dotted around the adjacent hills. Then head to Radda, another bigger, but equally as beautiful town in the heart of Chianti.

“Nice quiet spot”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

Less busy than many of the better known places this is an ideal place to stop for a leisurely lunch. We would recommend Bar Ucci for good afforable Tuscan food. Would visit again on any return visit to the area.

“Tiny hilltown with fabulous views”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

There are just so many of these lovely small hilltowns that to select one over the others is impossible, but Volpaia is one of those worth visiting, even if just for an hour or two for a stroll and glass of wine.
