The hotel is in the centre of the town. It is a beautiful building, decorated to a high standard with generous room sizes. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and breakfast is really good. They offer light lunches but not dinner but there are many places in the town to eat. There is another hotel in the town under the same ownership and the spa and pool can be used.

Room Tip: The rooms with a bath are larger

We stayed in 5 different hotels in Italy...and this was just the best. Situated on the piazza of the little town of Radda, pedestrian street to the Hotel...our room (204) overlooked the piazza and church...the bells rang on the half hour (only til 10 pm)....found some wonderful things in the shops along the street. The breakfast was so varied and delicious. The staff made coffee drinks and the tea selection was wonderful as well. The walls and ceilings in this 13th century (I think?) hotel were painted with beautiful scenes. The lounge on floor one (our floor 2) received a good internet signal and internet was free. Very friendly and helpful staff, who even prepared tea or drinks in the evening. Can't say enough about this place. Part of our group stayed next door at Palazzo Leopoldo and had the same experience; same good breakfast--plus fitness center and pool there. Lovely as well, and same owners, I believe.

Room Tip: Loved 204...just had to remember a step down into the room just inside the door!

Part of our group stayed here and totally enjoyed the location. Just a short walk on the cobblestone street from the main square. The rooms were large and the bathroom showers a bit small. both an elevator and steps to rooms but we all appreciated the quiet of this village of Radda. The hotel served only breakfast which were very complete and filling with choice of coffees. restaurant was being worked on but we were very close to a couple of good local restaurants.

Room Tip: You are here in the midst of Tuscany and away from the larger cities. If you have difficulty walkin...

My husband and I stayed here while on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! The hotel is beautiful and centrally located on the main piazza of the town. The cafe at the hotel is delious and delightful. The staff is very accomodating and helpful. We could not have asked for a better time in the Tuscan countryside!

Our beds were superhard and room so dark you could not sit and read. The bathroom, well, let's say our showerstall made a phone booth look spacious. We were not happy. The breakfast buffet was fine, and staff friendly. The common room was in desperate need of some TLC....and also additional lighting! I would not recommend this property.

Dear Guest,

We regret that the room allocated did not meet your expectations, they are usually one of our strengths as well as the common room frescoed with original paintings of the early '900.
We are taking advantage of its indication of the light bulbs going from the low consumption to LED bulbs.
We hope to have you again in spite of all our guest.
Best regards,
Palazzo San Niccolò Staff

Radda was an excellent medieval town and was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Centrally located the hotel was a great location to base our adventures out into Tuscany. In comparison to some other hotels we stayed at during our 3 week trip it came out as average. We had a luke warm reception when checking in, we felt we were more of a bother to the man at the desk. Our room was nice, the bed was hard and was two twins put together (not uncommon in Europe). We were woken up every morning at 8am by the bells of church that is next door, so if you enjoy sleeping past 8 I would recommend a stay somewhere else. I would probably stay in Radda again but would look to stay elsewhere.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for having stayed at the Palazzo San Niccolò, we regret that your stay has not fully met your expectations.
However, we hope that you return soon to Radda in Chianti and give us a second possibility, if not far from the church, but always central, there is the Palazzo Leopoldo a Manor House of '600 century with a beautiful view of the hills of Chianti.
Cordially,
Hotel San Niccolò Staff

The hotel is set in a small piazza in the quiet historic centre of Radda - sitting outside it is a lovely location to linger over breakfast. Staff were very friendly, the hotel has an intimate feel centred on the cafe eating area.
We arrived late and they made us feel very welcome.

If you are doing the Eroica, this hotel is ideally located and they have a separate secure garage where you can assemble/ store your bike ready for the big event. The Eroica route goes through Radda, but would recommend that you drive the 11k to Gaiole for the start.

Room Tip: Avoid third floor if you dont like low beams.
