Friendly, helpful staff, good food. lovely grounds and facilities and a great place to decompress and recover after a week rocking about on a small boat in the Galapagos Islands. Natalia, Jefe de Calidad (quality chief) was most helpful to all of 17 of us .. while we needed to check out at noon, as the hotel was full, there was plenty of space, good food and a big TV to watch Ecuador almost get into the "knock-out' round of the World Cup until we left for our flights back to USA about 8:30 PM. Very accommodating. WiFi, computers, nice swim pool, large rooms, comfy beds, etc.

Room Tip: Everyone liked their rooms. I cannot speak to value as it was part of a vacation package.

At the end of our Galapagos trip, we had a 6 hour layover in Quito Mariscal airport. You cannot check in for your return flights until 3 hours before your flight, and there is no luggage storage at the airport. Six hours was not enough time to do anything in Quito, but perfect for an outing to Puembo. We caught a taxi (15 minutes, 15 dollars) from the airport to this hacienda. They were able to hold our luggage for us while we explored the quaint town. At the bakery on the plaza, we stocked up on bakery goods for our flight home. We then had an excellent meal at the hacienda's restaurant, before catching a cab back to the airport and our flight home. This was a lovely way to spend our layover, and a chance to explore a small typical town in Ecuador.

Room Tip: Excellent wifi too! You might want to make dinner reservations as some time tour groups will stay a...

We stayed one night at the hotel to be near the new Quito airport for our early morning flight the next day. It's nearer than downtown Quito but it is still about 30 minutes to the airport. The hotel is located in a residential neighborhood so there's really nothing to do nearby. The hotel is well secured with high walls and couple of security guards at the front entrance. This probably would have made us nervous if it were our first hotel in Quito but after spending time at the Marriott Quito, we figured this kind of security is normal for tourist hotels. The neighborhood seemed nice and not scary at all.
When we arrived, there was a huge birthday party going on with a bunch of teenagers hanging out in the pool and conference room area. It made the place feel lively. In the evening, it seemed we were the only overnight quests so the place was deserted. We had to look for a staff to help us at the restaurant. We were the only customer.
Our room was nice and a good size. The water heater was not turned on so the water in the shower was cold. We called the front desk and it was fixed right away. No central heating but we asked for a portable heater and they brought one to our room.

The service at the restaurant was great but the food was hit and miss. My hamburger was good but my husband's pork dish was tough and not very good. The prices are the same as hotels in the city. We thought it was a little bit pricey but you have no other choice. They provided us with a bag breakfast since we had to leave before the included breakfast was served. A juice box, pre-packaged muffin and apple. Not much but it was still nice.

This is a nice hotel if you want to be near(er) to the airport for an early morning flight out.

We stayed here four nights off and on during our vacation end of May first part of June. It is near the airport which is great. If you have a room that looks onto the street it may be busy and ask to be moved. The other rooms we stayed in were great. We ate at the restaurant once and my husband's steak was very tough and he could hardly eat it. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a wake-up call for one night and they didn't call us. Glad we set another alarm as we would have missed our plane. They were very helpful and got reserved a taxi to take us to the airport.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for somewhere to stay close to the airport. I organised a transfer with the hotel from the airport which went smoothly. I had not issues with that which others have mentioned on this site. The place is in a quiet little beautiful town. Its a boutique hotel in the style of a rustic little town with exquisite fine touches. Very welcoming and helpful staff at the reception desk, the room is fantastic with fine attention to detail (eg beautiful furniture, embroidered shower curtain, gorgeous paintings in the room, lovely smelling soaps and toiletries, impecably clean), lovely garden surrounds. It was a good place to stay for some rest and relaxation away from the hustle and pollution of Quito.

If you're looking for a "business-oriented hotel" near Quito's new airport, this isn't it. In fact, nothing like that exists. Forget about it.

This is just your average, mediocre Ecuadorian "hostería", but they know where they are located. Until some international hotel chain builds a new hotel near the airport, this is the best choice if you want to get to the airport within 20 minutes.

The breakfast is just average. Nothing special. There is lots of noise outside the hotel room when someone walks by, especially rolling some luggage. The hot water comes and goes in the shower.

So, in short, if you want to be close to the airport, this is a good choice. Just realize it is nothing special, and you will pay close to US$150.

Room Tip: Perhaps one of the upstairs room would be quieter than a downstairs room.

The hotel is 15-20 minutes by taxi from the new airport at Quito so very convenient. New road works going in so it will be even quicker. The rooms were very comfortable with large double beds or twins. There are a lot of dogs barking in the area but they seemed to shut up later in the evening.
Room 106 looked out onto the street so was noisier, try 108.

The food was fine but not exceptional and the restaurant was nicely furnished. Very much a transit hotel or used for conventions. Ideal for the overnight stop.

Conversely it's a way outside of Quito if you're planning to go in there.

Room Tip: 108 not 106 or 107
