Very uptight owners. I felt very unwelcome. The female owner is very rude. I felt very rushed to vacate my room on my morning of leaving. Not a very clean room. Lots of cobwebs and the towels had a musty smell. I am not sure if they let residents stay with their pets but the room had a smell of dogs.

A large bedroom with huge bed and well-stocked shower room made for a comfortable overnight stop. Paul was the sole host as his wife was away with her choir. He was an obliging host, helpful with local advice in a direct, matter-of-fact manner (if you're into Real Tennis it will be home from home!). Breakfast was outstanding with cereals, fruit compote and a choice of egg dishes. If stopping in the area again, we would not look elsewhere.

Very pleasant stay for a few days, ideal for going into Nottingham to watch cricket. Susie and Paul were very welcoming and friendly. We stayed in the downstairs room of the separate cottage which was very spacious and comfortable. It was a family room so the ensuite shower/toilet may have been a tad small, but the large double bed which was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was super with homemade bread, homemade fruit and honey, and a lovely cooked meal. Certainly looking forward to returning when next in the area.

Stayed Sat and Sun over the May Bank Holiday weekend as my son was rowing in the BUCS Regatta. Made to feel very welcome by the owners Susie and Paul. Very comfy bed and everything was very clean. Tea and coffee in the room and a flat screen TV. Although I wasn't en suite the huge bathroom was next door with a super power shower and separate bath. Soap, shampoo and conditioner are all provided in easy pump containers and plenty of towels. Couple of small gripes: it would be nice to have nylon or net curtains as cannot open the black out curtains in the morning until you are dressed, which was a shame particularly as it was beautiful sunny weather and there is no mirror in the bedroom so you can't do your hair or makeup which means you are in the bathroom for a long time which could upset other guests. A full length mirror on the wall by the wardrobe would be great and an extension lead with a couple of extra sockets so that you can plug your curling tongs to heat up while you are drying your hair - at the moment only one available socket. Minor points though, as it is a lovely B&B and the food was excellent, home made fruit compote with greek yoghurt, followed by an English breakfast and freshly baked croissants with home made preserves, great way to start the way and to top it off my son's university Durham won for the 10th year running!

We stayed here for two nights while attending a family party nearby. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived by one of the owners Paul who showed us to our upstairs room in the annexe. We were really happy with our room and the lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Our daughter is nearly 17 and had a fold up bed in our room which she found little uncomfortable on the first night but once the owners realised she was not a young child they moved the bed round to give a bit more space and privacy and also put a mattress topper on which our daughter said made it much cosier. The breakfasts are delicious and nothing is too much trouble. Suzie is a great cook. The owners show much interest in what you have done and what your plans are. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Primrose House for just one night to visit the local Newark antiques fair.
The double bedded room was really warm and comfortable , the bedlinen crisp and fresh, pillows soft and blackout blinds ensured we both had a good nights sleep . Our room was in the top "Cottage" - with a small kitchen, tea making facillities and a cooker - off which was a bath room with toiletries and an excellent hot shower. Home made bread and marmalade made for a great breakfast provided by helpful and friendly hosts ! We very much plan to return

We booked Primrose House because we could take our well behaved dog there. We found it very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was lovely. It was easy for the dog to stay there. Parking is good. The shower was first class with very nice soap and shampoo.
