We recently had a big family meal here whilst in Cotgrave for the weekend for a wedding. The menu is extensive for a pub with a separate Pizza and Burger menu. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and it was one of the best Pizza's I've had outside an Italian restaurant. All in all a good place to eat.

Had good meal here while staying in cotgrave for a wedding. Reserved table waiting for us all when we arrived. Good menu and freshly prepared food. Good childrens menu. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Why the car park is always full I don't get! There were 6 of us there , we had four different meals and they were all poor. Fish and chips tasted nasty, medium steak was well done, no salads on the menu ( they agreed to make one up - it was a lettuce! ), veggie burger was greasy and my son's burger was not very nice ( and he is not too fussy !). We're locals and we have vowed never again. Might as well have gone down the road to shepherd's - that's one of those awful cheap carverys but it is much better value.

Food was nice but steak was cold, plus meal came out wrong but was sorted quickly. The staff wasn't 100% aware of what they were doing, and we was given our food without any cutlery, which they later noticed when they saw we wasn't eating the meals. Plus another member of staff asked if we wanted desserts and said he'd give us a couple minutes, but never returned (kept looking over and avoiding us).

What a great British pub. A welcome smile from the bar staff and very friendly owners.
Excellent ales at the bar and a fabulous pint of Doom Bar real ale.
The food was excellent. The steak and ale pie with thick cut chips and delicious gravy. Awesome.
The pizzas on offer are amazing. Its hard to choose a favourite. They are all very tasty.
Try the cherry pie and custard. Wow.
The waitresses are attentive and very friendly.

And to add to all this a log fire, and dog friendly.
What more could you ask for.
Highly recommended
