“All you could wish for in a real "get away from everything " holiday.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The accommodation is first class and extremely clean and tidy . The view out through the patio doors is amazing , it changes all the time and to be honest we could have sat there for the whole week just watching the world go by .
Fiona was the perfect host . She was there if needed but not hovering over you every two minutes.
LPG users like us are spoiled for choice , there is a filing station in Lochgilphead and 2 in Oban.
We visited Arduaine Gardens and had a beautiful meal in the Chartroom bar and bistro.
There is internet access available for e-mail checking but if you need more , (why ? ) there is a BT Wi-Fi FON hotspot available .
We will visit this lovely piece of Scotland again and have no problem in giving it top marks.

“Fantastic accomodation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed at Traighuaine ard for week and could not fault the accomodation or surrounding area. It was a great base for visiting Oban, Lochgilphead, western isles and the Kintyre peninsula. There were lots of castles to visit which my 6 yr old boy loved and a trip to mull was enjoyed by all. The apartment was spotless and had every cooking utensil you could possibly need. We are already thinking of returning to Traighuaine ard, and would highly recommend to couples and families looking for a relaxing, peaceful break with fantastic views.

“Can't wait to come back”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Beautiful apartment, spotless and well equipped. Owner (Fiona) lives above and was around to greet us when we arrived. Warm and friendly welcome. We visited most of the local restaurants and all were good but the best by far was Shower of Herring in Melfort. Oban ( about 18 mile drive) is a bustling town, lots to see, shops, bars, best fish & chips (Rick Stein), best café for lunch Kitchen Garden. A day trip by ferry to Mull with wildlife safari was wonderful though the best photographs were of eagles soaring above the apartment| A visit to The Hollow Mountain was very interesting. The views from every window were spectacular. There is no light-pollution so ideal for stargazing| A fantastic holiday, peaceful and relaxing, just what was needed. Looking forward to our next holiday there.

“Comfortable cottage, spectacular views and good locations.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Clean, comfortable, well equipped, accommodation with stunning views over the bay. The changing weather only enhanced the views. It was an excellent base to go out and explore the area. A ferry ride over to Mull is very worthwhile and Tobermory, the capital of the island, is a quaint picturesque harbour. A visit to tranquil Arduaine Gardens, just up the road, is a must. Last but not least Oban has a special draw be it for its history and culture or even its retail therapy - something for most people. A great place to go.

Thank you for your review. I think, perhaps, Traighuaine Ard was the wrong choice of location for your family. Pavements, shops and play areas are not normally to be found near by in such a rural location. The information on the website is designed to give potential guests a clear description of the area and the apartment, including the nature of the flooring. Children are welcome to play on the lawn and in the field adjoining it - for safety reasons the small dam, which provides the water supply, is a "no go" area and therefore children need to be supervised in the garden, as mentioned in the information folder. I am, however, concerned that you describe the apartment as "not greatly clean" - I clean the apartment myself and aim to provide a very high standard of cleanliness. The information folder in the apartment asks that you let me know of any problems at the beginning of your stay - I don't know what, specifically, you found to be lacking in the standard of cleanliness but I would happily have made good any shortcomings if you had pointed them out to me at the beginning of your stay.

Many thanks for your excellent review. For anyone reading it, please note that dogs are only accepted in the apartment in exceptional circumstances i.e. special needs etc. Good advice regarding the SatNav - it takes you the shortest route as the crow flies, not the quickest route. From Oban or Lochgilphead, follow the directions on the website.
