To be honest we were not expecting such great food. But it really was excellent! The kitchen is open to the restaurant, which is a nice idea. It's extremely clean and the owner seems a friendly guy. There is no drink license but you are welcome to bring your own (shop next door sells alcohol!). Very child-friendly too. Good value for money. But please update your Tripadvisor details to include your opening times.

First visit this year due to recovering from Christmas festivities. Wouldn't go anywhere else locally for a curry, it's the best around. If you want the atmosphere of a five star restaurant and a mundane curry, this isn't the place for you, the clue is in the name, Cafe Bombay. If you want excellent food and don't mind bringing your own alcoholic drink, you wont be disappointed.
For me, this is a great combination, able to enjoy a good curry with a beer of my own choice and not paying silly prices.
People are very friendly and we have never been dissapointed with the food. What could be better....

The food is acceptable, the staff are friendly and it's very cheap but after many years of custom we've decided the drawbacks outweigh the benefits. The TV is always turned up loud in the open kitchen, so if ur seated nearby you're served up a portion of Eastenders whether u want it or not! The service is not very attentive at times & the manager/owner can be a little offhand with customers. The music (competing with the TV) is usually appalling & the dank smell from toilets can sometimes escape into the restaurant. I'm sorry to say Bombay has fallen from favour with us as we used to enjoy it but maybe they've become a little complacent
