“Fabulous Christmas visit!”
Reviewed 19 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

What a beautiful house!
We stayed over Christmas, a family of four (two teenagers) and dog, the house more than lived up to our expectations.
A superb combination of old and new, from the vaulted ceiling and wood panelling in the lounge to the sauna and mood lighting throughout, a very special property.
Sky and broadband to amuse the kids and a couple of lovely pubs in very close walking distance for a little adult escape time.
Thoroughly recommended for families and couples alike.

“Superb luxury holiday cottage”
Reviewed 18 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Our young family of five had an excellent time at Willshaw. It boasts superb facilities including a four poster water bed in master bedroom, jacuzzi bath, sauna and wet room.
The kitchen is big and has choice of cookers too including a gas range style cooker. With three decent sized double / twin rooms, dishwasher and washing machine, everything is catered for.
There's a huge 3D TV in the massive lounge which boasts luxurious leather reclining settees to seat the whole family and guests if required plus full Sky TV package and Sky TV in all rooms if you need it.
For those preferring a night out in the picturesque hamley of Whitehough, next to Chinley, its garden gate leads down to the Paper Mill Inn and Old Hall Inn where we had a superb Sunday lunch.
On top of this, owner Scott, was extremely helpful with directions and making sure everything we needed was catered for so thanks for that!
Would love to come back!

“Lovely New Year getaway with friends”
Reviewed 5 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Willshaw. The cottage itself was extremely comfortable and well equipped; a perfect base from which to do as much or as little as you want. With the comfortable beds, Jacuzzi, massive TV, reclining sofa and log fire we erred on doing very little a lot of the time. The owner Scott was very helpful without being intrusive. From the moment I first made inquiries about the property until the end of our stay Scott was prompt to respond and very accommodating - for which I am very grateful. The location was great: there are a few walks accessible from the door, and is well positioned to get to other parts of the Peaks or to various towns and cities via car or train. We visited both the local pubs (both situated about a minutes walk from the front door). The Old Hall Inn is great for hearty food (though when we visited on New Years day evening they had run out of a couple of items) and the Paper Mill Inn has an incredible range of beers and really friendly service. Our only regret was not discovering it sooner in our stay! Overall, Willshaw exceeded my expectations and I would be delighted to recommend as a place to stay.

“Perfect place for a relaxing break”
Reviewed 30 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We really can't fault Wilshaw for facilities, comfort, location and even friendliness and welcome from the owner, Scott. Everything is beautifully finished, the water bed is a great feature for novelty and comfort, the jacuzzi is perfect for warming up and chilling out after a day of walking, and the TV is wonderful for watching a movie after a busy day. Even things like the lighting are high tech and fun - remotely controlled to the colour scheme of your choice! The village has two lovely pubs which serve fantastic food and are literally a stone's throw away and the general location is perfect for accessing many of the Peak District highlights. We would definitely visit again. Thanks Scott for a fabulous stay!

“There is absolutely nothing to dislike about Manor House, you will want to return”
Reviewed 16 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Manor House is a fantastic holiday rental. We stayed for a half term break in October and couldn't have asked for a better property. There ample space both inside and out.
The house has been decorated to a very high standard. The living room is particularly stunning with its vaulted ceiling, huge curved TV, log burner and reclining leather sofa. The perfect place to relax with a G&T.
The accommodation is spotlessly clean and fully equipped for a self catering holiday. There is a spacious master bedroom with an enormous water bed for a great nights sleep. The kids loved having a TV in their room (especially with unlimited Sky) and changing the mood lighting in each room by remote control.
The house is in a prime location for exploring Manchester and the Peak District. There is a fantastic pub just two minutes walk away which serves delicious food, although I would recommend booking a table as it does get busy.
Scott, the owner, is extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I understand that Scott will soon be adding a wet room to the property. This will be a great addition as one bathroom between six can sometimes be challenging.
Please book this property with confidence, you will not be disappointed.

“Very comfortable stay”
Reviewed 31 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Beautiful building recently renovated to a high standard. Very comfortable beds, good kitchen, plenty of furniture and all the facilities you could need. Situated in a quiet location despite the proximity to the A road. Easy access to drive around the peak district and also about 40 minutes drive to Manchester. The owner Scott is very helpful and dealt with a small issue we had extremely well.
