Place is easily accessible from highway and has good roads. Estate and ambiance is good. They can improve on the food they provide. Very much average. People who had been to coorg and enjoyed hospitality there would not find this place upto the mark.

The Devagiri is a very good homestay which is clean. The hosts, Nagesh and Laxmi are absoloutely fantastic and very friendly. We enjoyed our stay along with the kids. The food was authentic and tasty.

We asked for trekking assistance and they arranged it and also packed lunch for all of us. When we got back from trekking, there was nice hot dinner and fireplace lit up. The night amidst the estate is real glory.

Room Tip: If you are a big crowd, then opt for Hunters Lodge where you can smoke.

I am visiting India from the U.S., and the Devagiri retreat was highly recommended by friends. I stayed here for 2 nights and had a truly amazing experience. The hosts were truly hospitable and I was treated like family from the moment I arrived. The facilities were remarkably clean, and are up to the standard of any place in the U.S. The views of the coffee estate surrounding the home stay are unique and breath taking. The food was amazing! Some of the best and most authentic I have had. The non veg was like heaven on earth. To keep you occupied there is a volleyball net in the front for badminton or volley ball. Ask about the train trek experience as you will not be disappointed. There is also a firepit out front which you can relax around on cool nights as well.

Overall, this was a great place to escape from reality an unwind and relax. The hosts Lakshmi and Nagesh are wonderful and you can expect great food and great facilities. Very family friendly place as well. I highly recommend it.

This home stay truly stands to its name as a home stay. We booked this place for 2 nights 3 day stay as we were attending a offroad event in sakleshpur. Devagiri retreat is easily accessible by road, its just 13 kms away from sakleshpur town towards mangalore road. They have a main bungalow where the family accommodates couples and families visiting. The out house is typically for bachelors. Its surrounded by coffee plantations, lush green. The home made coffee served was awesome, so was the food which was authentic malnad cuisine. Mrs & Mr Nagesh are the friendly lot, very interactive.
Manjarabad fort is about 8 kms distance from this place, which one shouldnt miss out seeing while visiting sakleshpur.
It was indeed a good stay at Devagiri retreat.

I stayed with family (along with children). This was an incredible place to just unwind and forget all about the hustle-bustle of the city. True value of both time and money. Great food and wonderful people (Mrs and Mr Nahesh).

Comes highly recommended.

Room Tip: preferably stay in the old house...will take you back down the memory lane.

Mrs & Mr Nagesh treat you as family and not really as guests. Amazing hospitality, very neat clean place. Good, hot food! Very close proximity to Railway track trek and also the estate itself can be visited for hours. Drizzly misty weather added to the charm of the whole place.
