I really enjoy the several hours spent in this Abbey. Established in 668 it has experienced many reincarnations. The quiet is encompassing. I was able to stroll the grounds on my own for a bit and it felt like the buildings absorbed all the sounds. A mixture of stone, wood, and composite buildings sit in the delightful meadow. The stream and grazing animals make you feel removed from the town and road just over the swell. Interesting little gift shop with local goods was refreshing. So much history here and the guided tour saw worth it.
