On the plus side the hotel is in a good location, the grounds are attractive and the staff are pleasant. However, the rooms are just not good enough. In the first room we were allocated the chair, wardrobe and door security lock were broken, the paint and wallpaper were peeling and hooks were not attached to the wall. To add insult to injury we could clearly hear the chap next door snoring his head off. We asked to be moved and this time we were given a "refurbished" room. Imagine our surprise to discover that in the bathroom there were broken wall tiles, stained ceiling tiles, holes in the towels, ridges of dust on the door and that when the door furniture had been replaced the holes left by the previous versions had not been made good. Moreover, the walls of the bedroom were covered in dirty marks with the odd cobweb to two. We really didn't enjoy our stay and won't be going back.

My Husband and me have just had two lovely nights stay at this hotel. Room very clean and spacious. Meals were excellent. So much choice for breakfast and the evening meals were lovely. Top marks to the Chef and a special mention to Rachel our waiteress, she was very friendly and efficient and very good at her job. Little touches like free nibbles with your drinks are appreciated. Wev stayed in many Mercure Hotels and this is one of the best.
Thank you for a lovely stay and will be back soon from Jan and Gary, Liverpool.

Not particularly impressed. Stayed here two or three times- the rooms are dated and not well sound proofed. On the advice of colleagues I didn't have dinner at the hotel but judging by the bowl of raw mushrooms at breakfast that was probably a good thing.
A shame because the reception staff are lovely and the biggest asset the hotel has.

Dear FSMorecambe,

Thank you for taking the time to review the Mercure Grange Park Hotel on Trip Advisor, it is always a pleasure to receive feedback whether it is positive or negative.

We do certainly not pride ourselves on being average, especially with our service levels. In regards to our Food offering we are growing our reputation quickly, so I would recommend that you try our Brasserie Menu. We are launching a new menu within the next month.

In regards to the mushrooms, I will bring this up with Andrew our Head Chef, who will ensure this does not happen again.

If I can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact me directly.

Many Thanks

Only a two night stop at this hotel on this occasion but use it on every trip to the Hull area. I was dealt with on arrival by Helen at reception. She was friendly, helpful, efficient and professional in all her dealings with me. Sally, a colleague of Helens on reception, also went out of her way , as always when I visit , to ensure I have a comfortable stay. There is a good choice of menu and they cater for everyone's needs at every meal time. The food and service food was excellent. Thanks for another great stay.

I stay here on average 10 times a year for business nearby and have never had a bad stay, food is great, decent sized pool and very friendly staff, television in the rooms is pretty poor reception wise but a very small criticism on otherwise pleasant stays

Clean hotel, good food on set menu for coach trip. Only one plug socket in room which made charging phones and ipads difficult. Ordered selection of British cheeses and celery from room service and received brie and rhubarb! (Not quite what it said on the tin) but overall a nice hotel
