We stayed at Ame de la Terre in April of 2012. Simone, the owner, was very helpful at offering directions and restaurant recommendations. The inn is on the outskirts of Dijon, which made it very quiet at night so we got a great night's sleep. It was also a great starting point to tour the area. The rooms are very clean and Simone offers a generous breakfast. We enjoyed our breakfasts with travelers from Germany and elsewhere in France. For a very reasonable price, Simone provided a yummy "table d’hôte" that included aperitif, wine, Gougeres and Ham & Olive bread for appetizers, Salade Lyonnaise, a cheese course with a full-range of cheeses, and a to-die-for chocolate tarte! If you can stay for dinner by all means do. Thanks Simone!
On a side note - I would recommend a visit to the Fontenay Abbey and Chateau Bussy-Rabutin. The setting alone is worth the trip. We enjoyed an impromptu lunch at the little cafe across from the Chateau. I don't think they were really open for business when we dropped in, but the owner graciously made us salads, bread and cheese and "the best quiche I have ever had," according to one of our girls. We loved their little dog Eva too.
