An amazing 4 day stay. Booked after reading other comments on TA site. Jan and Daphane were first class hosts. Everything about our stay was first class. Spotlessly clean with excellent facilities.A great place to stay with easy acess to surrounding beauty spots. We had aroom with a seaview, ensuite and walk in wardrobe.A communal well equipped kitchen. We were the only people there for 3 days so had area to ourselves. A very large lounge to relax in evening.Break fast was provided every morning at whatever time requested. Our last evening we met a lovely couple who had just arrived from Hawks Bay.
We had drinks together on decking area. Have their email and will keep in touch.A BBQ availble also.
A stunning property ,can highly recommend. The guest book there speaks for itself.......

Room Tip: We looked at all rooms while there and all have good features depending on how many in your group. O...

We stayed at Beach Break for the first 2 nights of our New Zealand adventure. It was delightful. Just a few km outside of town, Beach Break is a bit of paradise. Absurdly comfortable, very clean and run by the most relaxed, helpful and easy going folks around.

We could not have been more pleased.

We stayed 3 nights in this lovely B&B, that also has the facilities for a self contained stay. Jan & Daphne make you feel very welcome and are always willing to give tips and make travel arrangements. Daphne takes care of a lovely breakfast in the morning, Jan invited us to do some fishing at low tide (unfortunately, we weren't lucky...). A central room is available for all guests to relax, the private rooms themselves (3 available in total) all have something that speaks for them, though we loved the beach room the best (spacious, with a very comfortable bathroom). Friends of ours stayed in the room next to it (garden room), which is also very nice, although a bit smaller. We had a kitchen inbetween the rooms, so all was there to have an excellent and relaxing stay. Beach is a short walk away, BBQ is available at the huge terrace, all very quiet and peaceful, excellent place to relax and visit Abel Tasman national park.

Room Tip: The beach room is quietest, largest and has a wonderful bathroom; ocean view included.

If you want to stay in the Golden Bay area to discover the coast line there or just relax at a great location that's THE place to be! For us it was our perfect little paradise to have a day trip to Farewell Spit, have a relaxing walk at the beach, share a chat and a glass of wine with our wonderfull hosts Daphne and Jan, watch horses, birds, rabbits and the "house chicken Dolly" from our bedroom, enjoy breakfast at the terrace or just have a good deep sleep. If you ever should get bored there just ask Jan for help and he will organize a horse ride at the beach for you or a kajak tour or a visit to a concert at the "Mussle Inn" or, or, or....

We stayed at Beach Break for a few days in the New Year, and liked it so much we extended our booking! Daphne & Jan are lovely, friendly hosts and the lodge is both beautiful and beautifully located.

The beach is at the end of the garden, and the property itself borders the Rotokai Reserve which is, I think, an estuary / beach. Takaka town is a few minutes drive away for shops and restaurants, and there are several day trips to immerse yourself in, e.g. Farewell Spit, Pupu Springs etc.

We loved it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Golden Bay.

We cannot recommend Beach Break 'Golden bay" enough........From the moment we were welcomed with a glass of bubbly to the moment of departure - we were made to feel completely at home. The location is first class with the beach only 50m away the room/en suite was well appointed and very clean. Its only a 5min drive to Takaka township and a selection of excellent restaurants.

"Loved it" not much else to say.
