We stayed for 3 nights in the self contained unit of this beautiful B&B on our way up the coast. Its about 20-30mins drive from Yamba shops/restaurants and beaches. The unit has everything you need to relax and unwind. The breakfast provided uses eggs, vegetables and fresh herbs from the farm. They even grow their own bananas! An enclosed balcony (to protect you from the mosquitoes etc) allows you to read a book or sip some wine while looking out over the serene paddocks and watching the cows. Its an easy drive into Yamba for a day trip to the beach or for dinner. The lovely couple who own the farm are friendly and approachable. They are happy to have you over for home cooked meals and show you around the farm. A great couple get away but this would be great for families with young children also.

Room Tip: Choose the self contained unit as you can self cater with one trip to the Yamba coles.

Like the last reviewer we dropped in on our way to Sydney from Brisbane. Its website didn't really give us a good idea what to expect, but it is just off the Pacific Highway so we thought to check it out.

Boy are we glad we didn't skip Cosy Cow. It turned out to be a top highlight of our holiday. While the property doesn't look impressive from outside, it was absolutely gorgeous inside. The luxury unit is impeccable and we wished we had a home exactly like it!

The unit is big and fully-equipped, with a large living space, a cooking and dining area, an inviting verandah overseeing a large green field, and a really sweet and cosy bedroom with a spa tub. The washer was tucked into a hallway closet, there is a ready supply of cereal for guests and a decent collection of DVDs to entertain. Once we saw the unit we knew it's the kind of place we'd enjoy hanging out for days.

Another reason to stay here are the owners. The Casons are a sweet and passionate couple, and will make you feel as comfortable as they possibly can. We were offered muffins and milk when we arrived. Plus they are always around to advice should you want to stroll around their property, or if you want to explore Yamba or Iluka.

Think of Cosy Cow as a luxurious lodging, which happens to be a farmstay thrown in. There are chickens, cows, sheeps and ponies for the kids, and fruit-picking when in season. You'd also see the wallabies which hang around the property. Chances are that you'd be the only people there if you stay in the luxury unit, so no fighting for the animals' attention with groups of kiddos.

There is no wifi on the grounds, which we think fits nicely with Cosy Cow's package: to chill and minimise communications with the rest of the world while you are on holiday.

Overall Cosy Cow is a really terrific value for what it offers. We'd be back, and this time we'd plan a longer stay.

We went from Brisbane to Sydney and it was our first stop in Australia. It is an amazing place really off the beaten track and the perfect place being surrounded by nature - beautiful country-side. A must for every guest is the bush-walk with Julie or Wayne and watching wallabied jumping around. Arriving along the private farm track is the first exciting moment until reaching the farm house. And hospitality is fantastic. The room is nice and has everything you need, breakfast is premium Sunday style. We enjoyed our stay very much and really like to recommend this marvellous farm stay experience.

Fantastic place to stay. Beautiful room with a view at the cosy cows :-) and the walibi's in the garden! Very kind host, who even cooked us a meal as we were arriving late and did not have a lot of energy left to go looking for restaurants. An absolute wonderful room, very spacious, clean, cosy. Strongly recommend it to everyone looking for a place to stay in this beautiful part of Australia!

We stayed here on our drive from Sydney to Brisbane and had a great time. Julie is a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. Would recommend staying in the luxury unit, well worth the extra money! A relaxing and tranquil location, which was easy to find. Hope to return sometime.

Room Tip: Luxury Unit recommended
