First floor condo in a secured, 3-story, 15-unit building right on the beach. It is situated next to the pier and shipping container facility with the main negative being that you cannot walk the beach into Puerto Morelos; you have to walk around the container facility. The good news is that the road is paved and it only takes 10-15 minutes to get to the center of town; we, and some other guests, enjoyed watching a ship being unloaded one day during our visit, which was the only time there was a ship at the pier.
The condo was just as advertised and the photos are accurate. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. Having a washer/dryer was great, although the controls are all in Spanish (you might want to download a translator app to your phone). The wifi worked well as did the TV (almost all channels are in Spanish, as expected, but we didn't spend much time watching it anyway ... except for the NCAA basketball championship). There is a large selection of current DVDs as well as games and books. Also, a small safe is in the living room closet.
Having 2 bathrooms was a big time saver as we could both get ready at the same time. There was plenty of hot water, but the temp varied quite a bit while in the shower ... be ready to step aside for a moment and adjust the temp as needed. Towels, wash cloths, soap, tissue paper were all provided. Nice, large beach towels were also provided. The bed was comfortable (and it's a king size!). The A/C in the living room and bedroom produced good cold air ... both rooms also have ceiling fans.
The pool was very nice, with a great view of the ocean. Loungers were always available and comfortable. The hot tub was actually hot! There was seaweed on the beach during our stay and we did not see anyone working to remove it. However, the pool and pool area were kept clean. Security was visible day and night. He usually was at the gate holding it open for us upon our evening returns from dinner in town.
Carlos is the local property manager and is always just a call or text away. We utilized his grocery shopping service to have food in the condo upon our arrival which was very helpful.
We enjoyed relaxing by the pool, walking into Puerto Morelos for dinner, and walking on the beach. If you walk south on the beach you will come to the El Cid Marina (20-25 minute walk ... wear water shoes). At the marina is the dolphin experience called Delphinus (worth checking out). We did take a taxi back to the condo several nights from dinner because it was dark and the road around the container facility is dimly lit ... just grab a taxi at the taxi stand in the town square and it is only 35-40 pesos (that's only 2-3 US$) back to the condo, so very worth it.
All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning.
