The resort is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. This was our second trip to a Secrets resort and we enjoyed ourselves just as much as we did at Secrets St James. The overall feel of the place was very modern and it was in good shape (not too run down). The only negative in my opinion was the beach. There was plenty of room to lay out if that is your thing but if you're looking to go for a dip good luck. There wasn't really a good spot to enjoy the water. However, there are a ton of pools including a very nice main pool and awesome infinity pool. The pool located behind the preferred building is usually pretty empty if you're looking for a quiet place to relax. I didn't think the perks of preferred club went as far here as they did at St James, the lounge at Silversands fell flat for me personally. Luckily it is included in our UVC membership so it didn't cost us a thing otherwise I wouldn't really advise people to do the upgrade unless you have the money to blow or have never experienced preferred club before.
We absolutely enjoyed our time at Silversands and are looking forward to checking out another Secrets resort soon.

This was our 5th stay at SSS and it exceded all of our expecations again!! We were celebrating our honeymoon this time and it was definitely a memorable one. We have gotten to know the staff over the last few times and they make you feel like family. Our room was a swim-up and it was a perfect location Rm 4190. I really love every part about this hotel, from the pool staff aways checking if you need anything, from the entertainment (Miguel, Stepanie, and Jacki) alway asking if we want to get involved in activities, and the fabulous resturants in the evening that you never have to wait for and get a 5 star dinner. I don't think there is anything I can complain about. I can't wait to go back!!

Spent Spring break at Secrets Silversands in Mexico. First - the great things... We were very impressed with the property. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. We were greeted with a glass of champagne. Check-in was a breeze (our room was ready even though we were there before the 3:00 check-in). When we reached our room we were greeted with a banner across the door wishing us a Happy Anniversary ( celebrating our 25th in March). There was a bottle of champagne on ice in our room. Although our view was just so-so (there were no upgrades available until 2 days into our stay), our overall room location was great and convenient to everything on the resort. The room was huge and beautiful - exactly as seen in pictures of the resort. It was well appointed and the bed was comfortable. As far as food - you can't ask for more! I've never seen so much offered for a breakfast buffet and you can also get omelets/eggs made to order. There are so many restaurants on-site offering so much variety you're sure to find something you like. The food is wonderfully presented and we didn't have one bad meal. I can't even begin to describe the service. They definitely aim to please! You're well attended by staff who are efficient and friendly. All of the bars are great and you can't beat a bar in the pool!
Now for my very few complaints....a friend who recommended this place to us raved about the turn down service...we had that only twice during the stay. Also, 2 of the days were there our room wasn't cleaned until 6:00 at night. We weren't too pleased with that. And...a couple of times, they "short sheeted" the bed - the bottom sheet didn't cover the entire mattress at the bottom! I HATE that.
Overall - the place was great and we are considering a return next year during spring break!

This was our second time visiting this hotel but the first time using our UVC membership. We checked in late due to our flight delay. However, not only was the check in simple and easy, we also received a room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. The room was beautiful and overlooked the pool and ocean. While most all-inclusive hotels offer similar things, the service at Secrets is what separates this hotel from others. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Staff members always greet you, as they pass by with a friendly "Hola!"
Every morning we had breakfast at the World Cafe where Wilfrido would escort us to our table and attend to our every need. By the second day, he knew our names and what we wanted to drink before we even asked. Wilfrido's friendliness was a great start to our day. Juan Valdez (another breakfast waiter) remembered us from our previous trip in July! He provided us with great service the first time we visited but Wilfrido stole us this time around :) Poolside service was excellent! Carlos and Delmy worked hard by the infiniti pool to ensure everyone had their drinks and bottled water. We had dinner a couple of times in El Patio where we were always greeted with a friendly smile from Monserrat, the hostess. Raul and Adam worked hard to make our dinners special. The Mexican food was excellent and the guacamole was delicious. Dinner at all the restaurants were presented beautifully. We took pictures every night! We also have to mention Jose, from Oceana/Seaside Grill who was also our waiter from our last visit. He was very helpful catering to one's palette. He also offered to take pictures!
As far as housekeeping, Mari was one of our daily housekeepers. We are not sure of any other names. However, all the housekeepers kept our room clean and provided some surprises. One of our favorites was a goodbye message spelled out with rose petals.
We had an awesome couples hot stone message for 80 minutes at the spa, where we spent the day using the spa facilities afterwards. Andres was helpful assisting us with our message purchase. He was flattered that we remembered him from our first visit.
At the preferred members lounge, we also received excellent service from the concierge and Inocente the bartender. Inocente remembered us from our last visit and made us very tasty mudslides.

Overall, we had such a great experience we are thinking of going back a 3rd time this summer. We would highly recommend this hotel for people who want to relax in a romantic setting and receive excellent service.

P.S The reason we only gave a 'very good' rating to location was because the beach was not so great to swim in. However, they do their best to maintain the beach area.

Our experience at the hotel was amazing. This is our second time here, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel very special. I would especially like to acknowledge our waiter, Jesus Sanchez, at the Himitsu restaurant, who gave us outstanding service with a personal touch. He recommended us great dishes and drinks, all the while making sure we had a great time.

One thing that we wish could change is queen beds instead of doubles, which would make a big difference.

I celebrated a birthday here and they made an outstanding effort to celebrate with me.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to all of our friends.

My wife and I stayed at SSS for 5 nights and that was not long enough to enjoy everything the resort has to offer. We met and befriended many SSS employees that I would like to honorably mention. Sean the Spa Concierge (awesome man), Bernabe - Security Guard (what a great person), Arcadia - Ratatoulie Restaurant (An awesome server and waiter), and Sahid - Bell Boy/Baggage Handler - concierge). All these people I mentioned here went above and beyond to ensure we had the most pleasurable stay we could possibly have,

We had a Junior Swimout in a west building (Room 1103). It was fantastic to be able to take a half dozen steps and be in a swimming pool. This is a quiet pool which was ideal for us and fit our style very well. All the rooms have special romantic lighting and jacuzzis for two. Aldo provided us an anniversary package with champagne and rose petals on our bed and red apples along with a Happy Anniversary banner on our door.

The only downside I had to the resort was the gift shops were outrageously expensive. My wife needed some immodium and they wanted $19.00 US Dollars for a small box of it. Needless to say, she did not purchase the medicine. A basic womens straw hat was priced to us at $60.00 US Dollars. The airport prices were less expensive than the resort prices so if you forgot anything purchase what you need before you get to the resort or at the airport.

The food was gourmet meals and was very good but smaller portions. I have had better food at other resorts in the Riviera Maya. The green juice at the World Cafe was great and you should try it when you have breakfast. Also my wife and I had a couples massage abd enjoyed a wonderful day at the Spa. We had a swedish massage with aromatherapy treatment. The Spa was very enjoyable and take advantage of all the emenities it has to offer. Our massage therapists names were Elizabeth and I can't remember my wifes therapists name. They were outstanding and we felt so relaxed and refreshed when we left the Spa. Drink the chlorophyl the offer as it really hydrates you. Tastes kind of minty. Enjoy!!!

Room Tip: Room 1103 was 3rd room from the end of the building on the bottom floor and only steps away from a b...

Everywhere you go you will be amazed and feel totally relaxed. In my opinion the Veranda Bar is the top spot to be. It is right next to the stage area, but that is not what makes it amazing. The shows are average, but the bar and staff all are amazing. The head bartender Isaias Barillas makes the bar run smooth and incrediable. His nickname is Joe Pesci, but he is no "wiseguy". He is happy professional and makes this bar what it is....truly amazing! He is a true orginial man and you need to meet him when you get there, and tell him John from New York said hello. Actually he was off one night and the bar was not the same it was lacking his happy professional attitude and dedication to serving anyone at anytime! Thanks for a great trip "JP"! All my friends agree you look just like Joe Pesci, but that is not enough because they all need to, like everyone else on here, and book a trip to Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun and meet you and your amazing attitude!

Room Tip: View of the beach is amazing! If into the pool take a ground level room and sliding glassdoors are...
