We've been going to all-inclusives for 22 years and Silversands is one of the best we've been to---it's actually a step up from Sandals resorts (as are all Secrets resorts). The hotel itself was beautiful and the layout kept everything close. The rooms were huge, beautiful and clean. We never had to wait for dinner at any of the 7 restaurants---the food was absolutely gourmet! With 8 pools, there were always tons of loungers available. We prefer the beach and never had to worry about getting a lounge there either. The service was one of the best we've ever had---from the wait staff at the restaurants, bars, beach & pool service, room service, maid service to the activities staff and front desk---everyone was friendly, helpful and always ready to please. One night while dining outdoors at the Seaside restaurant, it was windy and cool and I was chilly. Our waiter, Ridarco went and got me a clean beach towel to put around my shoulders---how thoughtful is that? We were never pressured for the time share either. The beach was much nicer than we had read other reviews about. It was very wide with soft sand and they were always cleaning the seaweed. It was a little rocky getting into the water but we didn't feel the need to use our water shoes that we had brought. We took the bike tour to town--we were gone about 2 hrs. It was a 35 minute ride there and back on gravel roads for about 1/3 of the way and then paved, uneven roads the rest of the way. We had about 40 min. in town to shop before heading back---definitely worth taking. We've been to the Mayan Riviera 7 times now and always like to stay at a different resort for something new, but we would definitely return to Silversands again.

Room tip: Room 4324 was over looking the spa and pool---loved it.

Beautiful location and great staff! I traveled on a girls trip in January, and was anticipating some sun and R&R. The staff at Silversands delivered all that. The grounds were well kept, the beaches meticulously cleared of seaweed daily, and the staff was attentive. Our room overlooked the ocean, and was both well appointed and spacious. The yoga instructors brought in were experienced fitness instructors, and Jenn from Colorado was fabulous! I would have stayed longer if I could just to take her classes. The Italian restaurant, Portofino, and the Mexican restaurant, El Patio were my favorites. Excellent dishes and wonderful ambiance. I would definitely recommend Secrets Silversands to others.

Room was spacious, foodplentiful. Beaches and pools were not crowded. Drinks and entertainment perfect. Liked all the activities, Anna Banana was engaging but not too bothersome. I would definetely recommend it for couples. Even the excursions were not too expensive. We went snorkling. Also massage on the beach, one full hour. Alex the bartender had many varieties of drinks.Loved the Hibatchi restaurant, entertaining and good food.
