It was our 3rd trip to Mexico. We only had a short stay. (Thursday to Sunday) We had a preffered ocean front suit. It was great. My wife and I don't have a complaint that we think is worth bothering to type out, or making someone read about.

We had Good Food, Good Service, a nice clean comfortable room, and the entire resort was clean. The price we paid to go, I thought was fair.

Room Tip: The Jacuzzi on the deck with a view of the ocean was nice, of just sit and have a beer. It was quiet...

Our family, including 4 children, visited this resort May 29th to June 5th. We really liked the size of the resort and how it was set up. Our room was far from the pool, but we didn't mind the walk at all. We had adjoining rooms and that really added to our enjoyment of this resort.
Our rooms were very nice. Beds were comfortable and we never had a problem with our room being cleaned. We stayed in 635 & 636 and it was very quiet.
The pool was awesome. It's huge and they have plenty of loungers in the water and you could float around for hours and not bump into anyone. Our kids love swimming so we really enjoyed our time at the pool.
The beach was a disappointment at Sapphire. TONS of seaweed. They were constantly raking it and it wasn't Sapphire's fault... it's just how it goes. When we did go in the ocean you could only go in waist deep. The sand is very soft and we did enjoy walking the beach past the other resorts. Maybe if our weather was nicer we would have enjoyed the ocean a bit more.
Food was great! Most of the restaurants were open and we never felt like we didn't get to eat somewhere. We LOVED Lemongrass! Out of all the AI we've stayed at I think this had the best buffet. We ate a majority of our meals at the buffet and felt we could always find something good. Our favorite server was Jose for breakfast and lunch at the buffet. Our kids loved him.
The lobby bar and CoCo cafe are great. We loved the openness and having a drink after dinner. It really is a beautiful resort.
Now comes the negative... Last year we stayed at Dreams PA and felt that NOW didn't offer nearly as much. The entertainment staff didn't really exist... I felt like there were two that were constantly acting like they were hot crap. Kids club was non-existent. There was no camp out on the beach or water trampoline, even though it's advertised. No grill on the beach and no pool games. I just felt like it was lacking something. Our kids were constantly engaged at Dreams with the entertainment staff. We never officially checked them in to Dreams kids club because they always included kids in the pool and beach activities. You get what you pay for, I guess. We enjoyed our vacation but nothing left us feeling like we couldn't wait to return. Just wish they had the Sapphire pool at Dreams PA.

Pretty resort and great service but I wouldn't recommend it or go back. The food in general was not good. The beer and bottled water were always not cold. Always sea weed on the beach. Only one restraunt to eat breakfast daily.

Hello all. This is our 5th time going to the Mayans but the first to this resort. Ok from top to bottom,,First, the resort is very nice, clean and everything is very close together. You can get to the ocean in less then a minute or two if you are walking. We have a preferred area, to be exact a ocean front room which was very nice, and the jucuzzi was one of the biggest reasons why I took this room. The bar fridge was always full with pop, water and coronas. The food was a hit and miss, but mostly well above grade. The best spot to go is the Lemon Grass restruant as there are two in one restruants there. The Blue water grill is very good as wel,l this is located at the front of the resort. Night life there was well below avarage.....POOR.....nothing to do and the same music is played over and over...The pool in the adult section was very nice and you can only access it if you bought preferred club. The main pool is very nice and big as well.

My husband and I were at the Now Sapphire May 10th to May 17th to celebrate our birthdays and a relaxing vacation. I had read all the reviews previous to departure and was somewhat worried about the negative reviews. The resort was beautiful and just like the pictures shown. We stayed preferred, were in building 2 on the ground floor. A great location with beautiful views.
We had a quick check in & out in the preferred lounge and the employees were extremely friendly and helpful. It was also great to go there for a quick cool down and have a drink. Being in preferred we could have breakfast at the Blue Water Grill, which had excellent service and a wonderful view. We could also use the preferred pool which was beautiful and offered wonderful service. However we only went twice as it was quite hot and there isn’t a lot of breeze. We spent most of the time under a papala on the beach which Ivan reserved for us everyday. He was a joy and takes his job very seriously and is always coming around talking to the guests to make sure everything is going OK. The service at the beach was exceptional, Jesus, Juan and Iris GREAT JOB!
Our room was very nice and always cool. Our housekeeper was wonderful and kept everything immaculate. We had no problems with the refrigerator being restocked.
We have been to all inclusive several times before and this resort had better than average food. We always chose a seafood option and were never disappointed. We had room service a few times and it was OK. The only complaint the was the delivery time was always later than stated. We ate at all the restaurants except the Paramor and the Lemongrass.
Our birthdays were made special by the staff. They had placed banners across our door, a senorita doll made of washcloths, surrounded by rose petals on the bed and special birthday cakes.
Olivia R and I corresponded before our visit and she helped with requests. She even saw us off at our departure.
I can’t say enough about the staff. Very nice and attentive. Always saying “ it’s a pleasure”. It was our pleasure to stay at the Now Sapphire. We met many couples who had visited many times. We are planning our return trip to the Now Sapphire.

Room Tip: Preferred junior suite ocean front

My wife and I spent a week (May 26 - June 2) in this resort. Upon arrival to Cancun we were directed to the parking spot by Apple Vacation rep for our non-stop transfer to the resort, where we were met with welcome cold towels, which we used, and some fruity drinks that we didn't, but appreciate it nevertheless. Check-in was easy. We were place in building 2, next to the beach, but with garden view, which was fine with us. We've been offered to upgrade to Preferred category for $80 per day, but decided not to, which proved to be a right decision. Lets start with our room - it was decent size, nicely appointed, clean, with large bathroom (bath/shower combination). Fridge was stocked with bottled water, Coke, Diet Coke, beer. It was re-stocked daily.
Beach - nice, sandy, plenty of lounges. Unfortunately, due to some weather conditions far away, the sea was "infested" by sea weed for the first few days. It washed upon the beach in large quantities, but the cleanup was swift and they did it very often during the day.
Food - I don't want to go into annoying details. Lets just say that food wasn't great, but OK. We went to French and Stake a la carte restaurants, but weren't impressed. Buffet was your regular all-inclusive fare, with a Mexican flair. Again, nothing spectacular, but acceptable. I wish they would do something more sophisticated as far as food is concerned to justify 6 golden apples per Apple Vacations category system. Food deserved no more than 3.5 apples:-). But it would be unfair not to mention a coffee shop. They make great coffees.
Service - that's where this resort shines. People were absolutely marvelous, regardless of their roles. From room cleaning lady to bartenders, to waiters in all restaurants. They were all smiles and ready to fulfill all your wishes. I can't say enough about all of them. Sure we tipped all of them. But I wouldn't attribute our generosity to them being nice to us. I saw them being nice to everybody, even to obnoxious ones, who didn't deserve it. People, please learn to behave yourselves. Everyone deserves respect. And don't forget to tip. $1-$2 won't break your bank, but will make those serving you feel much better. Generosity is good.
Small things - beach towels without limitations and no room number/room key/signature, etc. needed. Great concept:-).
All in all, it is a very good resort, with some room for improvement in food area. Would we go back? Not sure. There are too many other resorts to try. But we wouldn't dread coming back, given a chance.

Room Tip: Resort is not that large, so a room in any building won't be far from any facility or the beach...

My fiance and I went to Mexico to check out a few resorts to have our destination wedding and ended up staying at Now Sapphire. When we checked in we were told there were no king bed rooms availble only rooms with 2 queen beds. So we asked is there any king bed rooms opening the next day. Nothing was available until our 3rd night. We did ask for the transfer for our 3rd and 4th nights. For those nights we chose to get "Preferred" staus for extra $80 per night. Dont do the preferred option its not worth it! So on our 3rd day at about 5pm we were told to go to our old room and wait for the bellman to come take our luggage to our new room. An hour and 4 phone calls to the front desk later no bellman! All we wanted to do was move our already packed up luggage to the new room and enjoy the pool before it closed. When the bellman finally arrived he informed me that he was told 5 minutes ago by front desk to come there even though front desk kept telling us he is on his way for an hour! Horrible customer service! And to think we wanted to have a wedding and invite 70 guests there. Not anymore!
Also the room service was horrible. They said the food would be delivered in an hour and it did not get there for an hour and a half.
They use golf carts to get around the resort all hours which are extremely noisy especially at 7am when you are trying to sleep. Dont get a 1st floor room!
The food was probably the best thing about this place. The ala carte restaurants are a little small so you have to get to dinner somewhat early. Be aware they close certain restauarants each day. They will let you know on their daily news sheet.
They have entertainment but usually starts at 8pm which was too early for us. By the time you go to dinner and wait to be seated and eat its already past 8pm. We only got to see 1 show and we were 15 minutes late to it!
The beach when we were there was not swimable in my opinion. There was a lot of seaweed.
I would not recommend this place to anybody! There are so many better resorts out there. Do your research!

Room Tip: For quieter rooms choose a higher floor room that is farthest away from the walk ways!
