A beautiful property with beautiful people serving you from start to finish. You want for nothing. The food was exceptional. Yes, we gained a few pounds. The beach was gorgeous and nice to take long walks on. The ocean perfect temp. The pools great. The rooms are the nicest. Everything is immaculate. The people so friendly that you will miss them when you go home. A very relaxing vacation and luxurious! Much nicer then we could have hoped for. We have come home and everyone wants to go with us next year.

Room Tip: I don't really think there is a bad room. They all seem to overlook the pool and some ocean.

We just returned from 12 days at the Grand Residence and we can't wait to go back again.

The accomodations were amazing and there wasn't anything missing. We booked a Master suite and it had a full kitchen ( fully loaded) laundry room, extra bathroom, his and her walk in closets, jacuzzi tub ( and one on the deck as well), three murphy beds ( we have three children) as well as a king bed, his and her sinks, walk in shower etc etc… it could not have been better for our family. The pools were amazing and our oldest son, who is in a swim club, took advantage of the lap pool. The beach was excellent, however right in front of the hotel it was a bit rocky for the first few feet, but after that it was perfectly sandy. You could also walk about 20 feet to the north and it was sandy all the way out. We have three children ( 6, 11, 14) and the youngest took full advantage of the kids club. They had different activities each day and she came back with many cool arts and crafts. Angie and Diana at the kids club were awesome and they even arranged a pinata birthday party for our daughter and invited all the young kids in the hotel. One day the hotel arranged complimentry painting of clay figures and we ended up going back the next day and buying more. It was a really cool souvenir from Mexico that our kids made themselves ( the artist also added detail) and it was amazing. Around the pool the staff were very good there was always someone around to help We never walked by a staff member that did not smile and say hello … from the person cleaning the pool right to the general manager. Very friendly and they wanted to meet our every request. We had a $200US credit per day and I was always waiting from some catch and so I kept every receipt, but guess what, ' no catch' . You could spend it at any restaurant, spa, or grocery store ( that had every thing by the way), in room dinning and they simply creditted it off the bill. No issues at check out or with the final bill. The hotel is not quite half complete and so it was not really busy. It may be a bit more crowded when it is fully complete, but I am sure the hotel we adjust to manage it.

We are a bit hesitant to write the review because we don't want to create a demand at the hotel so we can't afford to stay again, but we just had to let people know that its a perfect place…especially for families.

We are just finishing our 5 day stay at the Grand Residences Puerto Morelos Royal. The place is really new, only opening in December of 2013. We expected a few glitches with that as the background but have been pleasantly surprised. As a side note, the resort is offering a great deal with beautiful, large, multi-room suites and a sizable per day resort credit to its early guests which more than offsets any minor inconveniences we've experienced by being early guests. In fact, we are seasoned travelers in this area and I can't imagine a better travel deal for a more beautiful guest stay than the Grand Residences - it's a stunning property offered at an amazing new opening deal with lots of special treatment along the way!

In fact, our experience has been pure delight. The room (a two bedroom suite for our family) is outstanding! Perhaps the nicest and most well equipped we've ever stayed in with beautiful and well thought out details. There are large flat-screened tvs everywhere you might need, luxury bedding, abundant Murphy beds for guests, enormous outer room and kitchen areas, state of the art washer/dryers, beautiful artwork/decor, large and well designed and equipped bathrooms.

And I haven't even mentioned the staff, who have been polite, warm, helpful, and who have gone our of their way to make our trip memorable. One staff member literally carried our 4 year old over a 50 foot wet stretch when she didn't want to get her shoes wet and I (who was wrangling with the other 3 kids) pretty much just told she was going to have to figure it out on her own (oops, bad parent me - good guy Manuel :-) All of the staff has learned our names, our kids' names and are committed to making our stay the best.

I really could go on and on. The ocean is gorgeous. The pools are HEATED perfectly. The food is delicious. The people and the resort are committed to making this is a top property. IF the property can maintain the spirit that it's shown to its early guests and continue growing into a mature resort, it will be unbeatable.

ps As a side note, there is some time share business going on down here. There is another Royal property in the area and many of those holders seemed to have upgraded, or were in the process of upgrading, their timeshare to this new top of the line Royal property. We were asked if we were interested but not pressured at all. Oddly, it didn't seem they had to recruit interested individuals but rather that many were interested. I don't have much to contribute on that end since we were just weekly renters with no tie to the membership aspect.

We were so lucky to find Karen who was renting a week at her beachfront villa at the Grand Residences for the week we needed. We traveled with our grown children and their signficant others. Walking into the lobby was amazing, seeing the pool area was beautiful but walking into the villa was breathtaking! The employees are touch notch - from the concierge (Guierllermo), to the pool bartender (Jorge), to the waiter (Alenjandro & Roger), to the pool/beach attendants (Tony & Kevin), to Yolanda (Rosemary) at afternoon tea, to the wonderful maid service morning & night - loved the turn down service! I'm giving this a 5 star even though the price of the drinks (when not during happy hour) and the evening meals are quite expensive. Since this resort just opened in December 2013, they have not completed the entire resort. There were only 120 guests the week we were there. We loved it! We could pick any spot on the beach or pool area, any time of the day! We are anxious to return in a couple of years to see all the upcoming changes! The only glitch came on the last day when we were waiting for our transportation back to the airport. Someone at Thomas Moore forgot to write down our reservations but within minutes the concierge had arranged for the staff at the Grand Residences to take us to the airport with the two suburbans they have on site. It ended up being a better commute than planned!

Room Tip: Beach front is the only way to go!!!! We did stay our last night ocean view, ground level, and did...

We just returned from 5 nights at Grand Residences, and it was fantastic. We have stayed at Grand Velas for years, but decided to try something new. The suites were perfect; we stayed in an ocean front, 2 bedroom, and it was amazing (room 228). There were 4 of us, and it was more than enough room. My girls enjoyed the balcony Jacuzzi tub, and it was nice to have such a wonderful kitchen and top of the line everything. Our rate included a $350 credit each day towards food as well as American breakfast, etc, but this does not apply to tips or a few other miscellaneous items, so it was great. 2 orders of American breakfast would feed all of us!

My girls enjoyed the various activities at the kids club (pottery, bracelet making, etc), and we split our time between the beach and the pool. Immediately in front of the property, the ocean is a little rocky, but if you go a little bit North, between Grand and Jade Now, it's perfectly sandy bottom, and great for the kids. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. I think that they are still working through some "new kinks", but in comparison to other properties we've stayed, they are constantly improving, and they were always willing to check on things if they didn't know the answer, or even fix special items...like one evening my daughter wanted a simple grilled chicken salad...no problem!

Our children are 11 and 7, and so I came prepared with some packed snacks, etc, but the market really does have everything you need, and the prices from wine to fresh produce, etc were reasonable. The suite will provide you with paper towels, coffee (both drip and nespresso pods), napkins, dish pods for the dishwasher, and an array of fresh and dried fruits complimentary. I did bring some laundry detergent pods (easy to travel with) to use with the full size washer/dryer...another plus with kids. I would have packed a little bit lighter and just done a load or 2. I preordered some items to have in our suite, but I could have easily picked them up upon check-in, and they have grocery carts you can use to take the groceries to your suite - no carrying bags of groceries all over.

The property was not at full occupancy, but we never had an issue finding a great set of 4 chairs by the pool or by the beach. We also never had a wait at the restaurant, and typically there was a themed menu each night in addition to the regular menu (Mexican, Italian, BBQ). The first night we were not provided a "kids menu", but it did appear on our 3rd night, and there was a very good selection and the quality was high. My girls lived off the pool quesadillas (beef, chicken or shrimp) and the grilled shrimp tacos. The spa, although small, was very nice, and the transportation was on time and friendly.

All in all it was a wonderful vacation, and we will definitely be returning. We did not venture into town, but you can always go in for a nice lunch, shop at the market, and pick up fresh seafood to cook back at the property. I would highly recommend this property, and the sunset catamaran would be fun, but it books quickly if that's something that interests you. The property has everything you could think of at the pool to "check out" - lifejackets, boogie boards, snorkel gear, board games, movies (although limited selection, so bring a few DVD's for the evening if you like to watch movies - each room has a DVD player).

We had a fantastic vacation at the Grand Residences. The staff could not have been better, the food was wonderful, the rooms are beautiful. We felt totally pampered and relaxed. We had one week with 11 family members, and we were very comfortable. The kids enjoyed the activity center employees, who went out of their way to make sure the kids were happy - they even organized a piñata birthday party!

Room Tip: The fourth floor view was spectacular!

Everyone at the residences is so helpful. We enjoyed Kevin and Tony by the pool. Angel at the sports desk and pool. Alexander in the Fargo restaurant, what an amazing job Jorge does running the restaurant, we loved him at the Royal Hasenda. BBQ night was so nice by the pool, the food was delicious!! Yolanda worked the afternoon tea and she handled it so well, very pleasant experience. Can't wait to return!
