It was fun and I saw a trumpet fish. Very ecofriendly. Customers must wear biodegradable sunscreen,--which they provide for little cost--to help preserve the reef.

I thought it was nice that they attempted to save the reef by selling and making people wear only biodegradable sunscreen.

If you are in this area, and you are wanting to snorkel, you MUST SEE THIS. We saw everything, from baracudas to sting rays. This was unbelievable and worth every penny. We took a local guide and saved over $100 USD. However you do it, just do it.

The only reason I am not giving it "Excellent" rating is because the further out you go, the worse the currents are and they push you over the coral. Wife really got banged up. Just stay on the shore side of the reef and it's worth it!

Tania is an OUTSTANDING guide. Charming, patient, and extremely knowledgeable. She taught us all about the life cycle of the reef, and the changes threatening its health. My daughter got an irritating friction rash under her arms (after the first dive) from the vest rubbing. So, Tania gave my daughter the shirt off her back! Yep, literally!

We spent a couple of days diving the National Reef near Puerto Morelos in July of 2017. The reef is just a few minutes by boat from Puerto Morelos. Most of the reef is in less than 50 feet of water so bottom times are long. Lots of small reef formations with a few larger ones, supplemented with artificial reef substrates that are growing nicely. Lot's of fish, eels, and other sea creatures. Great dive for both intermediate and novice divers.
